COLD-HEARTED US DIPLOMATS and FRIENDLY FOREIGN ENVOYS

It was a shock to me that our own diplomats (some, not all) hate missionaries and Christian humanitarians. I found this out, directly. My sister is a diplomat at the defunct Department of State (DOS). I was aghast that she joined such a liberal, hate filled left wing organization!

The lengthy, dangerous lines at US Embassies in Africa was a big reason we returned back to America. People were stabbed in line there in Nairobi, in 2016. There’s no priority for US citizens, because your seeing the essence of socialism. Literally, there’s no distinction between foreign national, terrorist or US citizen. All merge in line at 5 am, and wait until 10am to get a mere passport.

I remember telling my teen: “If Trump wins, we will probably return to America. Its a last chance for our
Republic.”

In 2016, we were in Kenya watching Trump debate Hillary,  while flies were landing around her and her President. We were praying for one last chance for America, before the Fabian socialists destroy
our once great nation. Truly, Obama unleashed the era of Marxism and the fruit is still seen today.

Our nation birthed missionaries and humanitarian aid. Yet, when we stand in line at US Embassies (in Nairobi, for example) you stand with thousands of unknown and hostile actors. Your literally in Darwin’s survival of the strongest, with the nastiest applicants standing nearby your children and family. It’s dangerous even going to the US Embassy, because they make it dangerous.

This felt like a “Hate Department” towards Americans. I remember visiting an American Citizen Services (ACS) office. Dozens of hijab-clad Muslim women and men were there. 90% of them didn’t speak English and needed an interpreter. Agents would even apologize “Oh, they are just getting passport renewals. Your case takes more time.” It was disgraceful and un-American. It’s degrading and contemptuous of US citizens serving our allies.

We had spent days in this line, over the course of 20 years in Africa. I wasted precious time (usually 8-10 hours traveling on a dirt road or terrible highway) just trying to get to the US Embassy. Only to meet with left wing bueaucrats filled with their partisan hate. So many of them have never worked a real job in their lives. They are mere college graduates, with a head full of liberal theory. And hearts full of hatred towards America.

I remember one day, begging for my son’s USA passport. I remember the American agent, lying to me: “We will serve you today.” I had submitted another application and paid the hard earned $375 for my family member. That same day, they denied the application. I remember being mocked by staff and one of them said “Go file a complaint.” That’s how terrible it is at overseas Consulates. They seem busy processing foreign visas, and usually it fits the Democrat voting profile – liberal, and American hating like Rep. Ilhan Omar. She received priority at our own US Embassy. Literally, she comes from the refugee camps in Kenya. At the same time, we were being harassed by our own US agents there. For some reason, they place refugees on a pedestal, while neglecting their own citizens. I’ve witnessed this numerous times.  I sometimes feel ashamed that my sister works for the DOS, and hope she will join a more patriot-based agency like USCIS, ICE, BORTAC, and DHS. By that I mean, somewhere that veterans are honored and true courage is esteemed.

Jim Reports:

I’m finally back into my normal springtime routine at the ranch: writing and editing in the mornings, and ranch work in the afternoons. This week, I dropped a dead-standing red fir that measured about 24″ across, at the butt. I also dropped a healthy white pine that measured about 22″ across, at the butt. That latter was much too close to where I plan to erect an outbuilding, next year. Limbing them and cutting rounds to stove length was time-consuming, even with a sharp chainsaw chain. My kids helped me drag limbs to slash piles. I’m giving those limbs the full summer to dry. The piles will be touched off–after some rains–most likely in October. I should mention that in the past, I did some spring slash burning, but found that getting them started required too much “Woof.” (Dyed Off-Road Diesel.)  So now I do nearly all of my slash and garden waste burning in the fall.

Our life here in the midst of the pandemic is remarkably similar to as it was before. We just have far fewer trips to town, and no face-to-face Bible study meetings. That is what I really miss.

As usual, Lily has a far more detailed report than mine. Sorry that my portion is often written in the terse Joe Friday (“Just The Facts…”) style.

We grew up in the woods of northwestern Montana. Life was tough. We were five kids and shared each others clothes, while growing up. Mom and dad worked a hard, simple routine. We didn’t have ski passes, adornments, and excesses. We had the bare minimum. We got mocked a lot, by the social climbers in school, church and work. Wealthy people stood out in our small Montana village. I didn’t understand the value of hardship growing up, until decades later.

As a child, I complained at times, not comprehending the valuable life skills our struggling parents displayed to us, daily. Later, the poverty and hardship would become my greatest blessing, a skill-set to overcome in any nation on earth.

My small town once was a conservative bastion of logic, reason and temperance. That was then.
Today, its governed by retaliatory (bitter) left wing politicians. People from the USA’s largest cities moved in. Today, they are bringing their lawsuits, stress and character defects with them. Literally, they are exporting their culture even as they fled their stress filled urban nightmares.

FORGING CHARACTER

I spent ample time throughout the USA in places like Skid Row and Crow Reservation. We embraced a faith mission approach, which had grown into our full-fledged outreach. This was different than socialism.

In socialism, they blame other “groups” for their own problems. It’s an escapist dream, to perpetually blame the “Kulaks” in USSR or “the Boers” in South Africa. Socialism is the most cunning way of stealing other people’s property. While claiming “we are for the common man.” It always produces death, division and strife in every culture it ever takes root. Always. I had witnessed this first hand overseas.

Socialism is left wing bitterness expressing itself in acts of revenge, retaliation and hate. Whether Bernie Sanders, Castro other left wing politicians. They are masters of deceit. And they all know it. In Marxism they always zero’s in on some “past injustice” to exact reparations, bitterness and hate.

It’s the most cunning form of resource theft on earth. Multitude millions fall for it, and its killed over 100 million people since 1915. Yet, a multitude of modern USA youth are still falling for it.

OUR WW2 DAD – PILLAR OF FAITH AND INTEGRITY

Dad was a WW2 veteran. He served as a chaplain during the 1964 Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. He had learned to live on a $1 a day, while doing Christian service worldwide. He recounted tales from India, Asia, the Mid East and Europe. It’s hard not to feel nostalgic about those good ol days. He would share insights about seeing people in India “picking out corn from a cow pattie, they were so hungry.” Those stories formed our life message and values.

He was a fighter, a USMC warrior. A true overcomer. In the 1980s i remember him trying to battle an unjust eminent domain attempt. Liberals would steal his property under the guise of “city necessity” and pay less than 10% of the market value. I remember his frustration with sleazy government scalawags and corruption. It was always these wealthy, trendy liberals harassing normal families in our once conservative region of Montana. He always told the truth and stood up for what he believed in. Everyone respected his stand, and knew his values.

OUR AFRICA YEARS 2000-2020

In October 2000, all I could see was small village huts, from the corner of my airplane window. “Wow, I’m really in East Africa.” The shaky airplane landed. I was heading out to build a remote rural mission, as a new carpenter volunteer. Training: Prepper Parallels in Everyday Life, by K.B.

I am no expert, but I can share. Contemplating what training or experience I have that could be of value to the community at large in a SHTF scenario, and it appears to be a bit of a struggle to decide what is pertinent. We all have our own experience, patterns, and muscle memory from day to day. I suppose that what I share here is as much an example of the importance of the give and take communication, as it is no matter where one is on a spectrum of learning, they can contribute.

Truly it is important to see the Prepper Parallels in your everyday life. Let me explain. We live in concrete jungles, rural roaming, cloisters, communes, etc. We all feel we have our place, our work, our calling, and our hobbies. The thing of it is…if you have done anything for any period of time you know two important things. (No, two important things is not the ceiling I am touting).

Number 1: You are an expert in something. It is that simple. What is it? What have you developed out of necessity, affinity, boredom, or mentoring from someone you love and respect? Is this viable to your survival?

Number 2: You have more to learn. No matter the level of expertise you have amassed, you are almost surely learning new things everyday or innovating in some manner. This is true because if it is work you have to keep apace or ahead of the game to be competitive. If you are competitive and it isn’t for work…it is a passion and you at the very least have bragging rights on the line, so you are motivated.

I don’t know – however, it is a great example of how when it comes right down to it, all government amounts to is FORCE. That’s what it does. That’s all it knows how to do.

When you ask for government – whether it’s a tax, license, plastic straw ban, or nationalized health care – it comes with guns.”

April 8th is also the anniversary of the death of English experimental gunsmith and author Phillip Luty, in 2011. He was hounded by British authorities for many years. He died of cancer before a scheduled criminal trial.

The Coast HX4 Light, by The Novice

Last summer, I went to a garage sale. There, I found a brand new clip light for sale for two dollars. That was too good a deal to pass up, so I bought the light and put it on a shelf in my workshop. It sat there for several months. Then, one autumn evening, I needed to move some firewood after darkness fell. I looked at the various headlamps on my shelf, and decided to give the new one a try. I was very impressed. The little light cast a bright white flood of light wherever I turned my head. I could see so clearly that it was almost like working during the day. The new light, a Coast HX4, quickly became my go-to light for the vast majority of my outdoor tasks during the hours of darkness.

Hair, Head Wear, Visors and Brims

Hair is a wonderful thing. It protects the scalp from sun burn, and even helps to shed some rain (or at least makes the rain a little less cold by the time it reaches my scalp). When my wife complains about her hair turning grey or about it being difficult to style, I reply, “Just be happy that you have hair.” Not everyone is blessed with scalp hair. I miss mine.

Back when I had hair on the top of my head, if I wore a cap or hat it was usually a fashion statement. As the years passed and my hair began to thin, head wear became a matter of practical necessity rather than style. I needed something on top of my head to provide the protection that my hair was no longer supplying.

Wearing glasses made it expedient for my head wear to have some kind of visor or brim. This helped to reduce glare from the sun, and to protect my glasses from becoming speckled with rain or snow.

As a result, warm weather usually finds me wearing a baseball cap, rainy weather a broad brimmed hat, and cold weather a jeep cap or cabbie hat.

The visors and brims on my headgear provide a great place to attach a clip light. This frees up my hands, and the light points wherever I turn my head.Continue reading“The Coast HX4 Light, by The Novice”
