Preparedness Notes for Wednesday – January 17, 2018

In his farewell address to the nation on January 17th, 1961, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned the American people to keep a careful eye on what he called the “military-industrial complex” that had developed in the post-World War II years. We didn’t do a very good job of listening to his warnings.

No we did not listen very well…

  2. Fieldmarshelattilahun says:

no we did not, however I believe Ike was only partly right no so much in keeping an eye on the MIC but keeping a better eye on politicians and our teachers and our morals.

  3. Charles K. says:

Also, in the original, as penned by Eisenhower, it was the Military-Industrial-CONGRESSIONAL complex. Nothing has changed, and nothing will until there is a mass secession from the real “evil empire”.

  4. Dave A Dacus Jr says:

Hi, I checked today on your blog if the new archive CD has released but couldn’t find it. Are you aware of the date of release so I can be sure to purchase before they sell out? Or can I reserve one with payment?

  5. Not So Free says:

Interestingly, there have been comments over the years questioning why, instead of talking about it on his way out, he didn’t do something about it while he was there.

  6. D.D. says:

“American influence abroad, as defined by the power and status of the U.S. empire, has been in consistent decline for nearly two decades now. Indeed, when the history books are written it’ll be clear that the dotcom boom and bust at the end of the 20th century marked the peak of U.S. imperial strength. Shortly after that bubble burst our nation was faced with the brutal and traumatizing 9/11 attacks, and the overreaction to this event unleashed a mass insanity across the American public from which we have never recovered.

Specifically, the attacks of September 11, 2001 were ruthlessly and immediately exploited by degenerate power hungry charlatans in D.C. and elsewhere to fear-monger an entire country to give up liberty in exchange for a promise of safety. With that devilish bargain our society committed cultural suicide.

As is so often the case with such terrible events, the worst of the worst took charge within our government and began to define the cultural narrative in fascistic terms. These sociopathic war mongers saw the terror attack as an excuse to advance their twisted imperial ambitions abroad, while also earning a fortune pursuing unconstitutional surveillance “opportunities” at home. This Owellian death spiral has been ongoing for over sixteen years now, and doesn’t skip a beat irrespective of who sits in the Oval office. It’s an unaccountable, corrupt and nefarious beast consisting of government, intelligence agencies, mega corporations and Wall Street. This is late-stage U.S. Empire, and it’ll consume everything it can in its path before coming to its inevitable end”.-Mike Krieger

    • VT says:

You are off by a couple of decades, the Vietnam oil war/weapons test/population thinning(mostly urban, lower caste were drafted) will be acknowledged as the high water mark of our “Pax Americana” a decline in our industrial, financial supremacy started there.

  7. Fieldmarshelattilahun says:

    D.D.:
Nail on the head sir, now if We The People can wrap our hands around the necks of the corrupt criminals and end
    them.
