My Preparedness Evolution, by Melody Channel

…Krissy Thank you for sharing your unfortunate experience. When I go home, I will start checking my inventory. Blessings, Krissy Avalanche Lily I was waiting upon the Lord and praying and reading SurvivalBlog, when my husband showed up! 😉 Avalanche Lily J.D.Farag Is a Palestinian who believes in Jesus. He is a pastor from Hawaii. He is a great researcher. He has every Sunday a prophetic update. Today he discusses Conspiracy theories, gnosticism, Predictive programming, and the Mark of the Beast. It is powerful. The only issue, I have with him, and it’s not an issue that would cause the loss of salvation, is his timing of the rapture. Most everything else I agree with him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHdaCkAvDPA oldhomesteader Krissy ,,,,,,,,,oh yes ,walking wounded,,, best cure for that is the right partner. …able to cross state lines or fly eventually. I obviously have a lot on my mind. Babbling. Northern Prepper One thing I discovered over ten years ago about eggplant is that if you pick it when it’s nice and tender you can substitute it for mushrooms in recipes. Most recipes, that is. When I was a youngster my parents grew it and it was a little on the bitter side and I did not like it. I think we were picking it a little too late as the seeds were quite hard and mature, but now that I know to pick it before it gets fully ripe I don’t have that bitter problem. As far as zucchini goes I’ve heard of a lot of people saying they can substitute some of that into banana bread although I’ve never done that myself I’ve eaten banana bread that someone used some zucchini…

…should never fall in love with an investment. If you can’t bring yourself to sell it, then it isn’t an investment–it has become your precious heirloom. ” This also applies to houses, cars, “your life’s savings” and every other form of baggage in this life. With the exception of firearms, none of this dead weight is worth your life or that of your loved ones. What profit is there in gaining the whole world, but losing your soul? I don’t fear death or those who can only kill the mortal body. I don’t fear losing all of the material baggage I’ve accumulated in this life. What I do fear is Jesus Christ saying to me “Depart from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you.” 0ldhomesteader HI ALL ,,what a week ,,,a group member was a pud power buyer and router tells me the power outs in Kali were…

Thoughts on Force in the Real World, by K.M.

…Bureaucrats versus Patriots. But you get the point. So, the scenario is that Perp approaches Innocent and demands something that Innocent is not obligated or required to provide. Perp is trying to force their will on Innocent without cause or justification. The demand is usually motivated by greed, lust, hate, a quest for power, or just plain old meanness. But it matters not, the demand is there. What will innocent do? Basically, Perp wants to control Innocent to perform or provide for them. Perp wants something for nothing and will use force to get it, if needed. The verbal demand from Perp is met with an equal and opposite verbal response, which often is simply “No”. Perp insists, Innocent again says “No”, Perp escalates the situation from a demand into a threat of physical force. Innocent responds with another “No!”, which is often immediately followed by physical, perhaps deadly force….

that I did have a fall at the end of the two hours. I stepped off the ice onto some grass that had some ice around it. For some reason, my left skate went forward and I flipped straight down onto my back left hip and upper gluts, hard. I think that I fell on the tuft of grass or ice-mud since I felt it so strongly on my left side . As I was going down I called out to “Jesus”. It hurt! As I lay there, I immediately claimed healing. I waited for a minute or so praying some more and most of the pain left. I moved around a little to see if anything was broken. The ligaments in the front of the pelvis hurt some. My back left pelvis hurt. And even though I hardly landed on my upper back, I held up my head, my…

How to Prepare When You’re The Only One- Part 1, by Patriotman

…their family’s responsibility to do. The fireteam group is a lovely addition to my preparedness plans but not an absolute necessity. For the fireteam group, I would estimate that half of them are very supportive of the concept of prepping. The other half are indifferent and/or slightly supportive. The Problem The problem is something I mentioned earlier that we all have probably experienced. It is “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak”. In other words, while I have tacit support for the idea of preparedness, getting anyone to do anything is a completely different story. Let me explain in detail the issue for each group. I Got 99 Problems, and the Family Group is 98 of Them Main Family Issue- Inexperience with Firearms For the family group, my main issue is that (aside from my girlfriend and me) none of the 19 other individuals in the group have…

Useful Christmas Gifts, by Hollyberry

…a large, heavy mallet with a big red bow on it when we first moved to Maine. That mallet is still being used today, 18 years later. It really is the gift that keeps on giving. Hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and tape measures, all great gifts. You can never have enough of these and I find it best to have a toolbox in the garage and one in the house. Throw in some Duck tape or Gorilla tape and some Gorilla glue, as a stocking stuffer. I would love a new, lightweight snow shovel for Christmas or a nice, sturdy razor knife with extra blades. The razor knife would go right into my hidden toolbox and I know I have one when I need it. Several years ago I discovered fleece throw blankets. They have fleece on one side and a velvet like fabric on the other side. Everyone I know…

A Christmas Gift for the Unprepared — The Starter Prep Kit, by Sean F.

…they are fighting to survive for. Information – Compass, street and topographical maps of the immediate and surrounding areas. An empty envelope inside a Zip-Loc bag with a note telling them to fill it with copies of their birth certificate, driver license, health insurance information, medical records, emergency contact numbers and other important documents. Very basically, what I’m giving them in this kit falls into three categories: supplies, information and support. Supplies – The starter kit I just detailed covers this. Some readers will disagree and find fault. Many will suggest additions or improvements. And they’ll be right. The kit is personalized to the individual. Having the basics is vital, but specializing the kit to the one who will carry it is likely the key to their survival. Information – This comes in many forms, but your loved ones may be panicked or fleeing and have access only to what…

Adventures in Central Texas Gardening – Part 1, by Lisa

…could gather so much of that wisdom that got lost with their deaths too. I look forward to your next installment. The Red Baron Perseverance! I love your “never say die” attitude! LSM What an awesome article to find first thing in the morning! I am looking forward to tomorrow’s post. I too live in TX. I am still figuring things out and learning a lot along the way. One of my most difficult issues is figuring out how much to water my 5 gallon buckets. I am thinking I still am bot watering as much as I should be. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! SaraSue Good job!! Thanks for the story. I look forward to the next installment. While I love where I live in the NorthWest, gardening here is very challenging in zone 5. The Importance of Christian Self-Defense, by A. Benjamin

…murder, kidnapping, rape, and assault are forms of hate, wouldn’t you? This is just one verse but it should already be clear that Christians must expect evil. Further, the idea of self defense can be found Exodus 22. If it is morally incorrect for us to defend ourselves and those we love, then why would God himself set guidelines for acceptable violence? Further verses regarding self defense can be found in Luke 22:35-38 with it’s instructions to buy a sword even if it costs you your garment. Also read Nehemiah 4:13. While we are indeed instructed to turn the other cheek, this is in response to insults, not deadly attack. Anyone not understanding this should be reminded in ancient Israel, a slap was a common insult, along with beard tugging and spitting. It was not a physical assault as we would call it today. Of course, this is not likely…

The Survivalist’s Odds ‘n Sods:

…in 1994, 25 years ago (and even that was a farce). I had my CCL right up until 11/18 but they changed the rules in the middle of the game. I no longer qualify in the eyes of the law. I am still waiting to see if I can get a basic FID card so I can keep my grandfathers 1920’s Savage pump 12 gauge. I would leave this state in a second but the missus says no way. Family roots and all. What Mamma says Mamma gets. A in Aloha All, I recently re-watched, on Netflix, Ken Burns’ three part mini series about Prohibition. In the first episode, the parallels I saw in the Temperance movement of then I see in today’s drive to disarm America. I strongly recommend that if you haven’t watched it or haven’t done so in some time that you que it up. If you…
