Hugh,
They Never Stop. And they never will. The latest bid to punish the innocent for arms abuse by the guilty— but really to make sure that no sheep-dogs remains protectively collared when the left later disposes of the sheep—is arising in MN. And it’s a doozy:
HF 3022 is now in the Legislature.
- Permit required to own a gun
- Permit required to buy a gun
- Permit required to sell a gun
- Local law enforcement gets to deny all types of gun permits
- Local law enforcement gets to deny permits to carry
- Personal medical information must be shared with law enforcement
- All firearm transfers must be reported
- All guns must be registered (fees set by local law enforcement)
- Registration must be renewed annually
- Local law enforcement may conduct warrantless “safety inspections” of gun owner’s homes
- Local law enforcement sets “safe storage” policies – Five day waiting period for all transfers
- Transfers must be done through an FFL (even between private parties)
- Fees may be charged for transfers
- Local law enforcement may conduct background investigation on transfers
- Total ban on any gun which meets broad “assault weapon” definition
- banned guns must be destroyed or surrendered
- Ban thumb-hole stocks
- Ban adjustable stocks
- Ban pistol grip stocks
- Limit fixed magazine capacity to 7 rounds
- Ban any magazine capable of holding more than 7 rounds
- Suspension of gun rights based on complaints from anonymous parties
- Recriminalization of suppressors
- Bump stock ban
- All ammunition sales will be registered
- Permit required to purchase ammunition
Almost forgot an important thing:
HF 3022 would also make gun owner private data public. This would include the number and type of guns you own and your address.
Anyone think that’s okay? – JMC
“Shall not be infringed”. Looks look a whole lot of infringing going on.
How do we turn this ship?
Liberal minorities with bull horns are doing the will of the elites. Followers jump aboard to get their pictures on facebook without giving a minutes thought to the sacrifices made daily by those keeping us free.
A nationwide push to reverse ANY state law that infringes on our right to keep and bear. I often hear liberals say we have the right to bear arms. Do not leave out the keeping!
I will defer to JWR’s article on people moving to the redoubt in mass.
It is upon us. Gun owners must understand that a storm is coming! SADLY, most people have no concept of the constitution, what it is and does for Americans. You can’t fix stupidity! Prepare for the absolute worse case scenario.
I’m ready to shoot at any gov scumbag coming to my house. At my age, I’d rather die defending my rights over tyranny. Screw the left. They want a war they will get one.
I find it amazing that the liberal wussys that want to take guns away from law abiding citizens don’t understand that the very people that they want to bring under their thumb are the same people that are heavily armed and could rule them by force if they chose to do so. The saying “hunting bear with a switch” comes to mind. The anti gun libtards should stop and consider what the unintended consequences may be if they continue to pursue their agenda.
I live in Minnesota. I will not comply.
Fight back, sue everyone(legislators)for breach of their oath of office and attempt toviolate your constitutional rights. Drownd them in 10,000 lakes of litigation, take them from office for not being able to fulfill their dutities(too many court dates to ever respond to),bankrupt them in fees, responses, losses, appeals. I can understand this in Minneapolis/St Paul but nowhere outside the metro area, let a tide of red crush the criminals
I recently moved out of this wretched state and I’m glad I got out when I did.
A revolution was fought over lesser restrictions.
Just sayin’….ain’t those representatives’ home addresses already public information?
And the people will do nothing……Complain yes, Comply yes, resist…. No.
As a citizen of the state of Minnesota, I I had a talk with my area representative. This bill is going nowhere, but it does show you what the gun grabbers really want.
Backstay nailed it. I am also a Minnesotan. Hunting is a very big deal here and I don’t think the majority of the legislature would be a party to these laws.
@Woodchuck, you forgot the word ‘yet’.
If the people of Minnesota let this fly, it will set a precedence, and other states will try to follow their example. This is not good.
Minnesota has been lost. My advice, don’t squander precious time and resources trying to fix it. Read today’s ‘America’s Gun Grabbers Have Accelerated the Mass Exodus to The American Redoubt’ by JWR and take appropriate action.
That sure sounds like an awful lot of “infringing”.
If some other liberal left wing state does something stupid on Monday rest assured that the left wing democrats in Mn will do the same on Tuesday this will not go through.
HF 3022 does nothing to curb gun violence, all it does is infringe on the rights of gun owners.
Just don’t give the California legislature any more ideas, we have it hard enough here.
In Shelby Gallagher’s just-published book she names what the future holds: Domestic Immigration.
It’s happening now.
I’m stuck in the PNW, and getting stupefied by the weekly new taxes and rules announced by the godless homosexual socialist mayors of Portland and Seattle. They have disarmament on their radar and are severely limiting their own police response to criminals.
The only neighbors I have spoken to that support the Oregon gun ban is the neohippy from California! The rest of us in our rural residential area will vote it down and if they fraud it through we will not comply period!
Interesting, Minnesota had 101 murders in 2016, 35 in Minneapolis, 19 in St Paul, four other cities had 2 murders each, and one county had 2. Most towns and counties had zero. So the local carnage isn’t motivating this.
No it is coming from outside the state where there is a lot of money being spent to “Reduce Gun Violence.” Follow where the money came from. It is from outside the state special interest nine times out of ten. Even the Bill in Oregon was sponsored from outside interests. That same year Bloomberg made a large cash donation to a certain governor to make sure these type of bills were singed.
Conspiracy to violate the Constitution
Bribery of a public official
A former Govenor of Illinois is doing long hard time for nothing compared to this, demand prosecution
The Texas Legislature doesn’t convene until 2019. It convenes every two years. It is full of wishy washy Rhinos, a lot of commie Democrats, and reps who fight any pro gun legislation tooth and nail till the bitter end. The current trendy anti-gun hysteria and high school pleadings for a suspension of 2nd Amendment rights is just what these jackalopes in Austin have been waiting for. Don’t be surprised when it happens here in Texas, we have traitors and other communists aplenty here. They’ve tried every pressure and tactic to get rid of the gun shows already. It won’t come down to a political fight, they have the numbers to push any kind of stuff they want. It’s coming. The thing will come to a head, and then we’ll see who is who and what is what.
I do not see this as simply a Minnesota problem.
HF3022 is just a derivative of the assault bill framework proposed by the left in our federal congress. Perhaps this one goes further with the registration requirements & inclusion of ammunition as an add-on.
Regardless, It is now time to wake up – this is not simply a legislative proposal put forward by ‘lawmakers’ – it is essentially a declaration of war on law-abiding citizens & gun owners of the republic – a direct usurpation of the Constitution.
It is time for plain speaking – else we will get to live the regrets expressed by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn – those that put forward such challenges to the foundations of the republic need to understand there will inevitably be consequences. Unfortunately, I think they are oblivious to the possibility this ends any other way than they imagine.
You might be interested to learn about Congressman Brian Mast, Congressional District 18 from Florida. Brian went to The New York Times and published an Op-Ed on Feb 23, 2018. It was titled “I’m Republican. I Appreciate Assault Weapons. And I Support a Ban”. This energized the anti-gun Left and the Parkland media Hoggs. This lead to the debacle in Florida with FS7026 where the Republicans in the House, Senate, And Republican Governor voted against gun owners. Next, Vermont Republicans in the House, Senate, and Republican Governor Phil Scott went against gun owners. Mast, a Freshman House member, sat one person away from President Trump among all the old grey beards when President Trump had his press conference on gun control. Mast is up for re-election. Hopefully we can get rid of this turncoat. We need to send a message to any Republican who votes to infringe on the second amendment. “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”. The second amendment comes from GOD, not from government.
I share everyone’s concern. I would not want to comply. I fear this all lead to confiscation. It feels good to say I would refuse, however it would most likely be enforced through bank account freezes, withholding of SS/pension checks, pressure on employers, etc. There are dozens of ways .gov could force compliance and you’d never meet them face to face. Scarey prospects indeed if these libtards grow their base.
