    Hello James

    So it is:
“Stick to your guns if you believe in something no matter what; ‘cause it’s better to be hated for who you are than loved for someone you’re not.” – Van Zant

Refuse to compromise if you believe in something, no matter the price to pay, because it is better to be hated for sticking to what you believe in, than have people love a façade that is nothing like you.

Why would someone hate you for what you believe in? As long as you remain civilized, even if you are a bit gung ho about your convictions, it’s ok with me.

This is about being yourself. If you want to be love for who you are, you have to show the real you, and not pretend to be someone you are not. You can be diplomatic in the way you express your ideas, and still state them. You don’t have to pretend to be something you are not. It can only result in disappointment anyway. The true you would be buried inside or hiding to keep approval, or acceptance from people who do not accept you anyway. The true you will emerge sooner or later.
