Editors’ Quote Of The Day

“Survivalist Rhapsody” (Sung to the tune of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody)

Is this the real thing?
Is this just fantasy?

The Apoc-a-lypse?
No, just cold re-al-ity.

Open your eyes,
Read Tappan, see,
I’m a survivalist, I’ve got no empathy,
Because I’m ready now, H. und K.,
Rations high, profile low,
No matter the scenario doesn’t really matter to me, to me.

Mama, I’ve closed the hatch,
I’ve mobilized my friends,
Locked the gate, its the end.
Mama, its all do or die,
So we’re at our retreat and here to stay.

Mama, ooh,
Got my Glock in .45
If I don’t Skype call you tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.

Too late, the time has come,
The interest rates have spiked,
North Korea’s on the line
Goodbye, everybody, I’m bugging out,
Gotta leave you all and eat those MREs.

Mama, ooh (and fallout blows),
I don’t wanna die,
I sometimes wish I’d been born in Idaho.

<<>>

I see a few mean looters on the way,
Lock-n-Load!, Lock-n-Load!, Are they all just zombies?

Market crash and ri-ots,
Very, very frightening me.
(TEOTWAWKI) TEOTWAWKI. <<>>
(TEOTWAWKI) TEOTWAWKI.
TEOTWAWKI, here we go
Here we go-o-o-o-o-o.

I should have read SurvivalBlog,
Should’ve watched NUT-N-FANCY
Sparing my life from the wrath of EMP.

Night Vision, sentries, should we let ‘em go?

Its Chaos! No, we will not let you go. (Let them go!)

Its Chaos! No, we will not let you go. (Let them go!)
Its Chaos! We will not let you go. (Let them go!)
Its Chaos! We will not let you go. (Let ‘em go!)
Will not let you go. (Let ‘em go!)
Never, never let ‘em go.
Never let em go, oh.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, Mama mia, Mama mia (Mama mia, let ‘em go.)
Without Rule Of Law, there’s only one choice for me, for me, for me.

<<>>

So you think you can loot me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can rob me and leave me to die?
Oh, looters, can’t do this to me, looters,
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right out of Do-odge.

<<>>

(Ooooh, ooh yeah, ooh yeah)

Restoration matters,
Anyone can see,
Restoration matters,
Restoration matters to me.

Whatever the scenario…

  1. Jim,

I’m guessing you probably also like the RUSH tune “Red Barchetta,” about a forbidden sports car in a dystopic future where automobiles are no longer allowed. Practically a libertarian anthem.
