SurvivalBlog presents another edition of The Survivalist’s Odds ‘n Sods— a collection of news bits and pieces that are relevant to the modern survivalist and prepper from “JWR”. Today, we focus on the burning of Notre Dame cathedral.
SurvivalBlog Classifieds: Sumus Mortes
First up, I should mention that as of April 30th, we are shutting down the Classified Ads section that we had established, as a test. Even though we quickly revised this section to make the ads mostly free, there wasn’t sufficient participation. Note that we will still have relatively inexpensive text ad space available in the blog. The text ads are positioned between SurvivalBlog articles and columns.
The Fallacy of Browsing in Incognito Mode
Peter proffered this article: Incognito Mode Won’t Keep Your Browsing Private. Do This Instead.
How Many Sleeper Cells?
Next, over at Zero Hedge: “Sleeper Cells:” 10,000 Illegal Aliens From Terrorist Nations Roam Free In US, A snippet:
“IRLI revealed last week that it had obtained documents under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) that revealed that the 10,000 illegals have not yet been deported despite having been ordered to leave the country.
The FOIA showed the illegals were from Iran, Syria, Sudan, and North Korea.”
Germany: Leftist Paranoia Run Amok
Parenting Magazine Warns ‘Blond, Cheerful’ Families Dangerous, Likely Right Wing. (Thanks to Peter for the link.) JWR’s Comment: <Sarcasm ON> Americans must also be vigilant! Report anyone who is cheerful to The Authorities, for re-education! <Sarcasm OFF>

The Burning of Notre Dame
Over at the ZMan blog: The Burning Of Notre Dame. Here is a pericope:
“To borrow a turn of phrase, the burning of Notre Dame is not the beginning of the end, but the end of the beginning. These events open eyes and make the minds of our fellows receptive to the arguments we make. The subversive seeks to convince you to look away from the fire, so you don’t see what is happening. The revolutionary wants his people to look into the fire, so they can see what he sees. We’re all revolutionaries now. Our job is to take events like burning of Notre Dame and make more revolutionaries.”

Oregon Deputies Assault a Roomba
And to end on a humorous note… Tim J. spotted this headline: Oregon deputies raid bathroom with guns drawn, find trapped Roomba.
A Lopsided Civil War
Tim. J. forwarded this by Mike Adams, posted at the Powergrid News site: Analysis: Why the treasonous Left will suffer a brutal loss in the coming civil war as power, water and food supply lines are cut by rural patriots defending America. Here is a quote:
“[Matt] Bracken calls it a “dirty civil war,” and by that, he means it’s messy and chaotic. What Bracken recognizes is that cities rapidly become uninhabitable without power, water and food. And cutting off those supply lines to the cities is a relatively simple matter for determined patriots working to take their country back from the left-wing traitors who are trying to overthrow America (and destroy it with illegal immigration and massive, coordinated voter fraud). Disabling or denying the access of upstream dams, municipal-scale water pumps, electrical infrastructure, railways and even bridges is not technically that difficult for determined forces fighting to defend America against domestic enemies (i.e. lawless Leftists).
Imagine Los Angeles in a sustained power grid outage. Imagine no EBT cards (food stamps), no air conditioning and no wifi. In 48 hours, L.A. collapses into a war zone, with police vastly outnumbered by armed gangs that go door to door, robbing, killing, raping and pillaging. This is what liberal policies have demanded, of course: No police protection. No firearms for self-defense. No prosecutions of criminals if they happen to be minorities (Jussie Smollett, anyone?). Without a power grid, Los Angeles collapses into something far worse than Venezuela. It becomes a cesspool of filth, lawlessness and violence, which is exactly what Leftists eventually produce when they are in charge of cities, states or nations. Cutting off the power to Los Angeles would merely accelerate the process that’s already under way thanks to left-wing California policies that are rooted in lawlessness, socialism and authoritarianism.”
