Hey All,
Just wondering, I know that this goes into blue water sailing, but what about sailing in canal barges like in France, Germany, Italy and other European countries? Wouldn’t it be possible to set up caches along travel routes with your needed supplies and you wouldn’t necessarily have to do any blue water sailing unless you’re either sailing across the English Channel or doing coastal sailing near Italy and other Mediterranean countries. This would also potentially give you the option of being a mail courier/passenger ferry/trader for a profession. Not only this but there’s already a strong community of barge owners who could help you with getting by.
