China’s Escalating Cyberattacks on Japan and US

An Epoch Times article, by way of Zero Hedge: Experts Warn Of China’s Escalating Cyberattacks On Japan And US Defenses. The article begins:

“Chinese cyberattacks on Japan’s defense, aerospace, and advanced technology sectors are increasing at an alarming rate, indicating what experts refer to as a broader strategy to undermine the technological and military strengths of democratic nations, particularly the United States.

The Japanese National Police Agency (NPA) has reported 210 such incursions since 2019, fueling calls for tougher legal frameworks and closer international coordination to protect critical infrastructure.

The NPA identified the hacker group MirrorFace, which shares traits with Advanced Persistent Threat 10, or APT10, a group linked to China’s Ministry of State Security. The agency noted that the timing of the cyberattacks frequently coincided with standard working hours in China and excluded Chinese holidays, leading authorities to believe that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been supporting such attacks.”

An “Iron Dome” ICBM Defense for America

An Executive Order (EO) signed by DJT on January 27th: The Iron Dome for America.  Part of this integrated system will apparently be space-based. Take note that this is still in the design/planning stage. Here is a brief excerpt from the EO:

“Defense of the United States against ballistic, hypersonic, advanced cruise missiles, and other next-generation aerial attacks from peer, near-peer, and rogue adversaries;
(ii) Acceleration of the deployment of the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor layer;
(iii) Development and deployment of proliferated space-based interceptors capable of boost-phase intercept;
(iv) Deployment of underlayer and terminal-phase intercept capabilities postured to defeat a countervalue attack…”

Concerns Over China’s DeepSeek AI

A Bloomberg piece that was suggested by SurvivalBlog staffer Tom Christianson: What Is China’s DeepSeek and Why Is It Freaking Out the AI World?  Here is a pericope:

“DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial-intelligence startup that’s just over a year old, has stirred awe and consternation in Silicon Valley after demonstrating AI models that offer comparable performance to the world’s best chatbots at seemingly a fraction of their development cost.

ef that the future of AI will require ever-increasing amounts of computing power and energy.

Global technology stocks tumbled on Jan. 27 as hype around DeepSeek’s innovation snowballed and investors began to digest the implications for its US-based rivals and AI hardware suppliers such as Nvidia Corp.”

SAGA Act Would Protect Semi-Auto Ownership

Reader H.L. mentioned this piece at Breitbart: GOP Rep. Introduces SAGA Act: If You Like Your AR-15, You Can Keep Your AR-15. An excerpt:

“Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) introduced legislation this week that would prevent states from banning rifles and/or shotguns that are legal federally.

The legislation, the Second Amendment Guarantee Act (SAGA), would operate as a national preemption law, preventing states from banning firearms the federal government has not banned. Moreover, it would undo bans contained in laws like New York’s SAFE Act.”
