On June 3rd, 1539, Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto claimed Florida for Spain.
June 3rd can also be considered the “birthday” of the U.S. Army. (It was established by Congress on June 3rd, 1784.)
Also on this day, in 1911, actress Ellen Corby was born. She is often remembered for her role as Grandma Walton, in the television series The Waltons.

On Tuesday afternoon, I heard from a couple of readers that the Western Rifle Shooters Association (WRSA) web site had been shut down by WordPress — ostensibly for “content violations”. The WRSA site has always been outspokenly pro-2A. I find the timing of when their site was axed very suspicious. You see, most recently, they re-posted the late Mike Vanderboegh’s serialized book titled Absolved, all in one piece. Apparently that raised the ire and invoked The Author-I-Tahh of the leftist, anti-gun WordPress gnomes.
Other conservative and libertarian people and organizations that use WordPress for site hosting should take note, and make immediate plans to migrate to other servers! Be proactive, or you too may end up “down the memory hole.”
Fear not. The WRSA’s primary writer has already begun posting on GAB. They can’t stop the signal!

Reader R.L. wrote ask why we no longer post a banner advertisement or generic link to Amazon.com. To explain: Amazon has discontinued “Amazon Stores”. We are still in the Amazon Associates program, but we are no longer allowed to post a generic “Associate” link for Amazon ordering. We can only advertise individual products, with links. But the good news is that if you click on any blue Amazon product link at SurvivalBlog and then search and order it or anything else from Amazon, then we still earn a commission. So, for example, if you see a link to book that we recommend — such as The Encyclopedia of Country Living — and then from that page you find something else on Amazon that you want to order, then we will still earn a commission. Each Wednesday, we post new recommendations, many of which include Amazon links. Henceforth, I will try to include at least one Amazon link for you to use, either in my Top Note, or down in the Quote of The Day. Thanks! – JWR

I wonder how many SurvivalBlog readers are really familiar with just how exactly the program works? Somebody a few months back made a snide remark about it in one of the comments so I did some research because I really didn’t understand anything about it, and wow, now I try to remember to link ALL my Amazon purchases through SurvivalBlog. When I do that, I get to kill two birds with one stone. First, I get to shave a little money off the profits of Jeff Bezos in a way that Amazon encourages, and second, I get to send that money to my favorite blog, SurvivalBlog, as a way of supporting it.
If a lot more readers would remember to do that, it would help support SurvivalBlog in a big way. Remember, all you have to do is click on ANY product JWR has linked. So if you are looking for a $13 new distributor cap for your F-150, or a $1,300 SunnyBoy solar inverter for your solar panels, you could click on today’s link which is a book on Hernando deSoto, then do a search for the distributor cap or solar inverter, and when you make the purchase, SurvivalBlog will get a small commission even if you DON’T buy the de Soto book. It’s a great system and a pain-free way we can support SurvivalBlog using Jeff Bezo’s money in a way that Jeff is encouraging. What’s not to love?!
Freedom to letmethink is the signal
How does the fact that the riotous factions coalescing to cause public fear and initiating Martial Law – NOW have acronymed governmental agencies sworn to protect citizens saying,
“…these violent demonstrations MAY BE organized and we need to find out who’s behind it!”
When these are the same violent groups who’ve existed since the 1960’s! The same groups behind Occupy Wall Street, the L.A. riots, and the SDS and Weatherman arming Black Panthers and blowing up police stations. Many leaders of these groups hold public offices and some previously lived in the White House!!!
Wow, go figure… the same acronymed governmental agencies who know your every move, conversation and purchase, to theoretically protect you from terrorists, are clueless to who is behind the riots. Who’d ever believe that story?

I was at the WRSA site and clicked on a story about 1530 PDT when the site went dark. Literally between 2 clicks, and poof. Glad to know that he is at Gab.
A FSBO at only $97,000, is a BOL that could serve as a alternative, or a primary. It is 20 acres and a small cabin, in an area in Lincoln County, Montana, generally known to myself as a very good to ideal location for the purpose. Pictures are worth a thousand words:

WordPress did the same thing to John Rappoport.
He’s now backup and running.
Rappoport just published a report that a test of 44 common vaccines are all contaminated with unknown and unreported nanoparticles. Another “conspiracy theory” bites the dustzby being proven correct.
The United States Army was not established in 1784. It was established on 2 June, 1775 when the Second Continental Congress authorized the raising of six companies of Rangers. Ergo, the motto of the US Army, and US Army Rangers is Semper Paratus, Always Ready. Respectfully submitted by a retired Army SFC. PS: as a hint, the US Army flag has 1775 printed on it, along with the words, Semper Paratus. Yup, Rawles, you were and officer allright.
Yes, the Army was in the field much earlier, but technically, the first regiment of Regular Army infantry — that is, the 3rd Infantry Regiment — was not formed until June 1784.
