The Editors’ Quote Of The Day

“We think we know what we are doing. We have always thought so. We never seem to acknowledge that we have been wrong in the past, and so might be wrong in the future. Instead, each generation writes off earlier errors as the result of bad thinking by less able minds – and then confidently embarks on fresh errors of its own.” – Michael Crichton in his novel Prey

Agree totally, witness the media social trends such as Facebook, twitter and all the modern comunication forums that are so insidious and prevalent today, it makes no differance anymore which country you are in, a in depth study of topics such as ancient Roman history during the Republic period or the even earlier Athenian City states period pre Roman early Republic ,shows when studying metalurgy that warfare, arts and thinking will show that quite truthfuly they ( the Ancients )knew as much and more than we currently know in these areas, including science , its a classic modern arrogance by collective brain washing by the modern societel elites that pushes and teaches this mentality, the general view of “our modern society is more intelligent, more benevelant, has more personal freedom ” etc is ever more so untrue. My observations are that 99 percent of people are non critical thinkers, unable to reason or construct discussions or posses a keen, capacious, vibrant intellect, of course few are able to articulate their thoughts in a calm manner without resorting to both verbal and physical violence, witness daily road rage attacks, removing oneself from a big city or large town is a very natural thought in my mind, at this point in mans history society breaking down world wide to a very barbaric state cannot be stopped, my only concern is how to prepare for this with the time those of us we recognise can help us. Perhaps something better can be built from the fires ahead, I do not know.
