As my answer to what is the “inclusiveness” element and how it works, I suggest the following: As a generality, inclusiveness is a system/commitment/style of enabling your group, team, or community of allowing/encouraging/enabling the diversely talented members to work together more productively, and to have stronger provisions to enable these participants to excel in their special talents within a strong, family-like cooperative environment. As a result, you thus create a stronger, more competent, and larger resulting success. This is not to be confused with the modern-day leftist use of the word.
How Can We Benefit Now Through Utilizing Inclusiveness in Both Our Everyday Lives and in Our Preparation Planning?
I suggest the following: Consider professional basketball wherein the basketball is moved from player to player (on one team) while those players are also moving from spot to spot so as to put a specific player with the basketball is in the best possible spot to throw the ball successfully into the hoop, while the opposition (the other team’s players) are strongly endeavoring to disrupt the planned play and capture the basketball. Each team player needs the entire team to play as a single entity so as to win by a single point.
Keep it simple and enjoyable. Help others to be successful. Be happy as you work at success.
First, do all you can to help yourself succeed. Then, work to help others.

Use of the Word “Event” Instead of “SHTF”
Here-in-after in this essay, the usual phrase “ SHTF” will be replaced with the more expressive word “event”. Our purpose with the word change is both to eliminate possible preferences to not use the wordage actually contained in the abbreviation, and to enable the new word “event” to express the fuller catastrophic effects of the post-event daily situation of changes and losses.
Inclusiveness in Our Prepper World
Inclusiveness in our prepper world of “after the SHTF event” is that element wherein everyone who will be involved in an activity, regardless of the nature of the activity, will be involved in the creation of the plan, and can thereby be more fully committed to the plans’ success. It can be shown to be that elusive stately glue that can readily unite and then hold together the many different talents and abilities eternally found huddled near one another, usually in uncooperative silence, habitual apathy, and forever to be a disjointed group of strangers. Personally, I refuse to allow that defeatist, sad condition to exist in my presence, ever.
As preppers, we are generally a widely diversified mass of folks who feel strongly about personal freedoms and the burden of excessive government oversight into our private lives. We all have come to similar conclusions and convictions while keeping a tight connection to our individual talents, skills, and cultural characteristics. By our natures, we are very capable of magnificent achievements through encouraging inclusiveness in our everyday lives in our many different work places and everyday environments.
We seem to instinctively know how to enable others to excel in the efforts toward a task completion. Saying that another way is simple. We are very good at being a strong participating member of a “herd” instinct, and we’re often willing to be a loyal follower when that is the best course of action and success.
Successful Planning
Every successful plan needs to include a simple principle of proven successful planning. The plan needs to be based on measurable progress steps moving to the point of success. Success steps will be specified in the plan. Secondary goals and alternate responses to the probable unexpected op-force performance and local support will also be a flexible part of the plan. Creating a winning plan requires solid knowledge concerning two types of simple questions being answered within the plan. These general types of groupings are:
“A” Group Questions
The “A” group questions include:
- Where are we starting from?
- What assets do we have available?
- Who are we as a group?
- Why are we involved?
- Who is available to aid us in the planning stage of the operation?
“B” Group Questions
Subsequent “B” group questions include:
- Where are we going?
- How will we know we are successful?
- What do we want to accomplish if successful?
- How much of ourselves, in terms of time, talents, assets, are we willing to commit to the effort, to the assigned responsibility?
Answers Reflective of Operation Participant Abilities
The answers to these questions will flavor and make more specific the individual parts of your planning efforts, being more reflective of the abilities of the operation participants. Among the many groups, the correct answers will surly vary from group to group to reflect the many different circumstances we will be facing in our post-event lives. Additionally, your final plan will be much more complete and usable when these questions were a part of your questions and solutions.
Opposition To Plan
There will always be some type of an opposition to most every plan– some of which be a correction, much of which will be an improvement, a few of which will be critical comment of an omission of a needed item, and usually a few which have been generated by the feeling of having been lost by one or more of the participants. Listen to all of them, every time. Simply put, there will be jewels of righteous good data contained somewhere intuit mass of commentary.
Never Cause Anyone To Feel Unheard or Unwanted
Look for it. Look for positive words of participation apparition to use in response to each and every comment, every time. Try to never cause anyone participating to feel unheard or unwanted by your lack of individual recognition. When you realize that you may have slighted someone, look for a timely opportunity, while the others are still present, to apologize.
Military Unit Inclusiveness

“Inclusive” Strategic Planning
So here we go once again with simplicity as a “required” principle of planning, regardless of the methods or the specific goal. Every path of success will encounter the need for specific language, specific lists of lists of personnel, of tools needed, of anticipated obstacles, possible allies, possible present and future weather systems, probable progress steps to be prioritized and evaluated as to individual progress step needs and equipment. This can be the starting point of inducing a spirit of inclusiveness that can prove to be a sustaining positive element of hope.
