The Illinois Gun Dealer Licensing Bill has advanced out of House Committee. This is one for Illinois residents to keep an eye on. Yep, this is the bill where the Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association sold out the citizens by supporting the bill as long as an exemption was carved out for its members. Two of the largest members were Rock River Arms and Springfield Armory, who founded the organization. Despite Springfield Armory’s owner acting as president and Rock River Arms’ owner serving as Treasurer, both organizations claim to have no knowledge of the deal until it was too late. Both have abandoned the association now that the public eye is on them.

This bill is evil, because it will ban private party sales of firearms.
