Editors’ Prepping Progress

To be prepared for a crisis, every Prepper must establish goals and make both long-term and short-term plans. In this column, the SurvivalBlog editors review their week’s prep activities and planned prep activities for the coming week. These range from healthcare and gear purchases to gardening, ranch improvements, bug-out bag fine-tuning, and food storage. This is something akin to our Retreat Owner Profiles, but written incrementally and in detail, throughout the year.  We always welcome you to share your own successes and wisdom in your e-mailed letters. We post many of those –or excerpts thereof — in the Odds ‘n Sods Column or in the Snippets column. Let’s keep busy and be ready!

Jim Reports:

We had a delightful visit with our four grandchildren, who stayed at the Rawles Ranch for a full week.  During their visit, I split some firewood, and one of my older grandsons helped me stack it, in the woodshed.

I whipped up a quick batch of Huckleberry syrup. Yum!

Now, Lily’s report, with all of the details on our Grandparenting Time…

Avalanche Lily Reports:

Dear Readers,
This was a very hot week followed by a few “cooler days”.

We had a marvelous but extremely busy week with our grandsons. They range in age from a year and a half to about eight years of age.  I very much enjoyed caring for them.  They are all super sweet, and curious. There were lots of questions about everything — especially asking about the meaning of words that I used. They are very respectful, affectionate, adventurous, helpful, and playful. There were no tears unless a brother accidentally, crashed into another brother, and for the youngest, if you corrected him.  Ooh, he didn’t like correction, or the word, “No” He would have a meltdown. LOL!  He has such a strong will.  Sometimes it was cute, though we didn’t give in to it. He loved to be held and insisted upon it, which caused me to regain my arm strength and ability to do chores and cooking while holding him. It was a wonderful feeling to be caring for a baby again. All my mothering instincts kicked into full gear again.  I really enjoyed it. Jim was super good with all four boys.  He gladly and very sweetly cared for the baby at times when he wasn’t napping and I wanted to do some activities with the older boys.

Our day was framed with three meals a day and a nap at 1 PM. and 1:30 respectively for the two youngests and a bedtime goal of 7:30 for the youngest, followed by the olders at 8:30 PM.

The boys ate non-stop!  So I was making three meals a day and lots of snacks of cheese, meat, nuts, yogurt, fruit, muffins, and Graham crackers.  This week we took the boys Huckleberry picking, kayaking in our Unnamed River, and swimming in our Redneck pool.  They helped me harvest my Golden raspberries. We made fruit leather with them.  We picked our tart cherries. At the older boys’ insistence, we gathered some Lamb’s Quarters and dehydrated them. Grandpa made a leather belt with them, for the eldest grandson.  We took them on Quad rides.  We — me and the three older ones — rode bikes around the ranch together several times.

At bedtime and nap time for the youngers, I read My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George to the “olders”.  We studied my edible plant books a bit. We hiked a small nature trail and identified plants. They helped me water the plants in the greenhouse and feed the penned cow and calf. they also helped me feed the chickens, and collect eggs.  We harvested the rest of my garlic together. They watched Grandpa and I, de-horn and castrate our newest bull calf. They played with their aunt’s and uncles’ Electronic Circuits set, Physics set, a full tote of Legos, and a full tote of Playmobil sets. They drew pictures and colored.

They listened to the Classical Conversations Timeline song about five times and spent some time looking at the Timeline cards. I have the actual CD.  (They did not watch the Youtube video that I posted for you to see.) They looked through all our kid-level Creationism books and a lot of science books. We also made Raspberry muffins together. They helped me make our own Cashew Cookie bar, Chocolate Chip Oatmeal, and Apple Walnut Cinnamon Larabar clones, for the first time.  Oh, my goodness!!! Homemade Larabars are much more yummy than store-bought ones!!! After making our own, which was super easy, I’ll not ever buy the sorry for an excuse and over-priced Larabars from the store, ever again. We will buy dates in quantity and make our own!

We studied the book of Daniel Chapters 1-9 with the grandsons for our morning family devotion.  They were working on memorizing Psalm 100 with their parents at the time of their arrival to the ranch so we continued working on memorizing it together this week. I have a model of the original Israelite mobile Tabernacle that our girls used to play with.  The eldest grandson found it and asked if he could play with it.  So we got it down and I also collected the picture books that I have about the Tabernacle and the Temples and showed them to them. We had chats about the Sacrificial system, the High Priest, and the Seven Biblical Feasts. They are not the “Jewish Feasts”. These are The Father God’s appointed times for the Men of Israel, those who worship the true Father God and His Son to go up to meet with Him at the Temple to sacrifice and worship, before Jesus Christ came. Because Jesus Himself IS the Seven Feasts. His life and ministry, death for our sins, time in the grave, resurrection from the dead, First Fruits from the dead, the giving of the Holy Spirit/counselor, to all Believers, His return, Judgment and Dwelling with us are the Seven FEASTS, The meaning and End of the Feasts and He alone completes/Fullfills them.  We read Leviticus 23 about the giving of the seven Feasts of the Father God and Exodus 20, the Ten Commandments of the Father God to ALL who will love him and follow Him and His Son. Jesus.

We also talked about the current day events of the Pharisees of our day (Modern Rabbis who claim to be descendants of the Pharisees of Jesus’ time), Rebuilding the Third Temple in Jerusalem in the very near future and re-instituting the sacrifice of Lambs and bulls. The very thing that Jesus did for us once and for all and did away with by allowing the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD.  Jesus, was God’s Final, Acceptable, and Ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

Later at the end of the day, while the boys were playing, I took a moment to check-in with what was happening in the world on the Internet.  I saw these videos and began to watch them, the boys came over and were interested and watched with me. The videos discussed the dividing of the Temple Mount and the rebuilding of the Third Temple.

We also watched this current event video and saw from the “Temple Mount Faithful” all of the implements that the Jewish Israeli Pharisees of our day, have made and gathered in preparation for the time when they will be able to rebuild.   In my opinion, the rebuilding and reinstituting of the sacrifices in the Third Temple will do two things.  One it is a complete affront to Jesus who is God’s final sacrifice, but on the other hand, those people who are awake, and whom God is calling, may question this system and come to faith in Jesus, recognizing that He was the final sacrifice. This is what I pray will happen.

The older two boys seemed to “understand” all this of which I am glad.  In fact, when I told them that Jesus may come back in as few as five years, They said, that “that is good” and that they are looking forward to His return!”  Out of the Mouths of Babes there is wisdom and understanding and true faith and trust in God!

We had a wonderful week with those boys.  They were a delight to us.  We told their mom and Dad that they are free to take a vacation anytime they want and that we would eagerly open our home to take care of the boys for them.

I found a video from Good Patriot on how to barter.

END-TIME EVENTS WATCH

After we took the grandsons home, I caught up on the rest of the news of this past week.  A ground-shaking very dangerous decision was passed in the Israeli Knesset that will affect Non-Talmudic Jews and Gentiles on this Earth in a very negative way in the very near future.  This will lead to the New World/One World Religion under Judaism and their Noahide Laws. Please listen to these three videos, the one above and these two below:

Please read Matthew 23.  These current-day Rabbis insist that they are descendants of these very same Pharisees that condemned Jesus to Death in an illegal court hearing.  Those non-believing in the True God, Romans, did the actual crucifying. Jesus longs for these men’s salvation but they choose their Father the Devil instead of the true light.

One more video that is worth watching: It is about The “Judeo-Christian” Religion.  Disclaimer: This linked site has no connection to SurvivalBlog.  They use the term “anti-semite” in a way that is much different that the meaning of the word that is typically used in most nations today. Please understand that we’ve always had a heart for the Land of Israel. But both the current national government and Talmudic Judaism have been thoroughly corrupted.  We believe that ecumenicalism with Talmudic Judaism is a mistake.

JESUS CHRIST FROM NAZARETH IS THE SON OF GOD!

HE ALONE IS GOD!!!

HE ALONE SAVES US from the Father’s Wrath that is to come at the end of this age upon all who reject His salvation of His Son Jesus.

John 14:6:  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1 John 2:22-23

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? Who is that? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
May you all have a very blessed and safe week.
