The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

“If we despond, public confidence is destroyed, the people will no longer yield their support to a hopeless contest, and American liberty is no more. Through the darkness which shrouds our prospects, the ark of safety is visible. Despondency becomes not the dignity of our cause, nor the character of those who are its supporters.” – Samuel Adams

  1. Another Samuel Adams quote:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

  2. Wise words from Mr. Adams.

Esp this: “Despondency becomes not the dignity of our cause, nor the character of those who are its supporters.” – Samuel Adams

I intend to share with many people in my life.

    Carry on

  3. Right on. One of the pitfalls of being patriotic, libertarian, and/or conservative Christian is that it’s real easy to slip into despair at the state of the world and what seems like American and Western decline. But if we give in to despair, we will never succeed.
