The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

‘Tis easy enough to be pleasant,
When life flows along like a song;
But the man worth while is the one who will smile
When everything goes dead wrong;
For the test of the heart is trouble,
And it always comes with the years,
But the smile that is worth the praise of earth
Is the smile that comes through tears.

  1. Your quote of the day rings so true yesterday for me. About a month ago I started a dental procedure to realign my bite after 50+ years of wearing my molars down. This procedure involves the tens machine to relax the jaw muscles and take readings on effort to use the lower jaw and create the devices to manage the bite position.

    Long story short, the 3 hour visit I had to get the impressions for this device had to be repeated after the lab sent my device to another dentist office who threw it away and yesterday was the restart of the program. My dentist with repeated apologies ran me through the process again.

    My response was not to worry, it is not your fault, you have no blame so your apology isn’t necessary, things happen. We all try to bat 1.000% every morning , when we arise but seldom achieve that lofty goal, we do the best we can. Just tell the lab that your client hates the tens machine for this process.

  2. What a great quote for these times – reminds me of my Uncle’s ability to do just that.
    It was, even at that time, such a blessing to us all – I pray we can all manage to muster a bit of that grace.

  3. The Washington football team needs to leave out of their name anything connected with misery, oppression, thievery and cruelty…..so their name should now be:
    The Redskins.

    Also, Dallas has to change their name. Should be The Dallas Cowpersons.
