  1. “Culture: To a leftist, there is no distinctive American culture, just hate and privilege. Only indigenous people or oppressed people of color are allowed to have a culture. And don’t you dare try to appropriate it.”

Never mind that they appropriate it all the time.

    1. I watch the local news at precisely 5:15 every weekday evening for the weather. There’s a male meteorologist delivering facts and making predictions based on science and past experience (the weekend crew includes an air-head female who can’t look at the off stage map monitor and read the teleprompter at the same time).

Beyond that there is no content, nothing of interest. I’ll flip back to Turner Classic Movies or take a turn around the homestead before dinner.

I watched this kind of outrageous satirical theater in the 1970s when it was called Weekend Update with Chevy Chase and Roseanne Rosannadanna. Satire becomes prophecy.

“I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time — when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness…

The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance”

― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, 1995

      1. They just push women into a man’s role to show they’re progressing. The IRS has statistics each year demonstrating women do not support stay at home spouses with their equality of income retirement and benefits. So why are women toiling in their husbands field when it’s their husband who provides for our amerIca? Progressives!!!!

    1. I also like the easy to use term “Leftists” but calling the DIM Progressives: “Collectivists” makes them crazy.
“Collectivism” quotes from the Ayn Rand lexicon:
Collectivism holds that the individual has no rights, that his life and work belong to the group . . . and that the group may sacrifice him at its own whim to its own interests. The only way to implement a doctrine of that kind is by means of brute force—and statism has always been the political corollary of collectivism.
Fascism and communism are not two opposites, but two rival gangs fighting over the same territory . . . both are variants of statism, based on the collectivist principle that man is the rightless slave of the state.
The political philosophy of collectivism is based on a view of man as a congenital incompetent, a helpless, mindless creature who must be fooled and ruled by a special elite with some unspecified claim to superior wisdom and a lust for power.

      1. Howard Roark speaking at his trial for destroying a low income housing project not designed to his specifications:

“I am an architect. I know what is to come by the principle on which it is built. We are approaching a world in which I cannot permit myself to live.

I came here to say that I do not recognize anyone’s right to one minute of my life. Nor to any part of my energy, nor to any achievement of mine. No matter who makes the claim. It had to be said. The world is perishing from an orgy of self-sacrificing. I came here to be heard. In the name of every man of independence still left in the world. I wanted to state my terms. I do not care to work or live on any others. My terms are a man’s right to exist for his own sake.”
        -Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead.

Its becoming a world in which a cannot permit myself to live. I’ve backed off long enough from the filth that are now trying to take it. They have existed since the beginning of time. They have prevailed over and over across the millennia. They may carry the day again. But this is where we draw the line. This far, no further.

  2. My biggest breakdown with leftie talk is the trying to put fair results into the legal code. Despite responsibility or cause-and-effect not to mention good fortune. Fair opportunities doesn’t really get most rightie that I’ve met hot and bothered. Its just; but sjw types going for result not opportunity is problematic. Moving kids across school zones anyone?

I get this from some white male right branded politician during an interview (I think he was speaker of the house or something I forget who the media person was) but I thought it was very insightful.

To me though honestly politicians can be a lot like tools that you can buy with two different brands on them like one with a red plastic handle cover and the other with blue yet made in the same factory by the same people and capex; just two different schemes of power control.

  3. JWR:

While I agree with ‘ww’ above, but, due to the last month of trash stirring by American Pravda I need a good laugh, so if you do not mind I’am going to LMAO. Thanx.
Thanx for the essay, and all the great work you and your crew due on the blog, Thanx again.

On a different note, are y’all going to be getting any more of the EMP, water proof archives?

  4. 1 mistake that I saw. “Fat” is perfectly acceptable to use when describing white men. It is only body shaming if it is used to describe women or minorities.

  5. One word that I’m starting to re-brand back to it’s original definition:
    Progressive => REgressive.
As well as a couple that have been created to replace “Liberal” (ahem).

  6. The one that bothers me the most, is the use of Social Justice, in place of Equal Justice. Especially when used by Sim Gill (Simarjit Singh Gill), the current Salt Lake County District Attorney.

  7. re:
    40. Idiot

A long long time ago, an idiot was known as a ‘half-wit’. Somebody with a limited grasp of reality. Somebody marginally contributing to society while absorbing excessive amounts of resources in the form of full-time supervision by trained perfessionals.

Half-wit was never intended as a derogatory description. The term is usually stated with a slow nod and an understanding smile.

Half-wits can contribute to our culture, but performance standards prohibit them from certain occupations. For example, the American military established a minimum IQ of 83 because experience shows half-wits cannot reliably perform basic tasks. They require more supervision than they can benefit the organization. These inverse benefits are indisputable, provable and repeatable.

Half-wits. The lefties probably hate hearing the term.

But I am old and slightly cranky in my dotage. Living near the outskirts of goofball central == Eugene Oregon == we experience EACH of your hundred list hourly.

Based on only a few decades of casual observations, I honestly believe the lefties have no concept of humor.

And they are hilarious doing it. A slow nod and an understanding smile go a long way toward letting them think they are part of civilization.

  8. I have no interest in what consenting adults do in private…..I simply don’t want to hear about it. I do have objection to the hijacking of good English words…..As a healthy male I sometimes feel “gay”, but I never feel “queer”.
Last but not least, I object to the use of “straight” to describe me…….I much prefer “normal”.

  9. The misuse of the word “gay” has bothered me for years, why do we conservatives also misuse the term giving them credibility. Let’s call them what they are “homosexual “ and quit using a term meaning happy and joyful.

    1. The last time I objected to the perverting of the word “gay” to an English scholar, I was informed that, in Shakespeare’s time, it had the same sexual connotation it currently carries. While I heartily agree with most of the language issues, in this one case, it appears our language has come full circle in the past 400 years or so, rather than moving unidirectionally.

      YMMV, of course…

  10. Leftist definition of an American:

A capitalist pig that makes black people slaves, exploits other countries, puts up a wall to keep peace loving invaders out, loves to war, hates mind expanding drugs, likes birth, likes the English language, believes in the Holy Bible, and worst of all believes in Jesus as the Savior of all humankind!!!

  11. He left out”Homophobic”. That’s a brilliant term. Either accept every part of the homosexual agenda or be labeled homophobic.

Having said that, I frankly don’t think it’s any of my business if two adults marry each other. Don’t care. I think a lot of people spend too much time trying to push their beliefs on each other’s

  12. I personally plan to have my “puppy”, (a HUGE, ENGLISH MASTIFF.) So she’ll take your leg off if she even THINKS you are a threat) I plan on enjoying my coloring books in my shelter, thank you very much! That is, if I’m not too busy fending of the leftists trying to steal etc.

  13. I have read some of James Wesley Rawles’ books from my public library. I have realized, that if the Schumer Hits the Fan, we are basically fine if we can hunker down in place. But my family is basically screwed, if we had to G.O.O.D.. NOW, I’m praying that the Lord will provide a way to get a good, reliable diesel vehicle that I can use to haul my disabled daughters and me out, if my husband is not at home. I’m the only one that has any gun training and experience. I used to shoot .22, and shotguns, growing up. I only have a BB gun, right now. Yeah, I know, that’s laughable!
I have to figure out what else would work for us, in the gun and ammo training and acquiring some more fire power, with the physical challenges we have in the family. Figuring out the land and retreat place still. Don’t know if family will work with me on that one. Praying about it is my main action on that now. So if we have to flee Schumer we will have a place to go. I was just planning to have our camping equipment, and retreating to the mountains in Georgia. We’re in Central FL. Which would be miraculous if we could even get out of Dodge at all. I know,…laughable again! But I realize the dangers of that plan now. Well, I know, a Deep subject…..Thanks for the “Heads Up!”

    1. Some suggestions for firearms. S&W now makes a M&P .380 with a safety and grip safety. Supposedly an easy racking slide with low recoil. As with most any .380 it may require a break in period before working near flawlessly. Probably retails most places <350. How about a Maverick 88 20 guage shotgun loaded with #7 or 8 birdshot? Made by Mossberg with Mexican components it is not horrible for the money. Can be had many place for < 200. Or. How about a .22 rifle? Some can still be purchased well under 200. I used to have a neat little Taurus 9 shot .22 revolver. That, if still made at all, may be at least 350 these days. Another likely good choice might be the new Ruger Security-9 pistol. 9mm, 15 round mags, around 300 or less. None of these firearms will stand off a determined adversary with superior numbers or weapons. Most would recommend some sort of longer range, higher caliber rifle. But these are a start. Only you and Jesus know what you need. He is the only real safety and provision any of us have in truth.

  14. When an open and free exchange of ideas is not convincing and does not advance their cause then it is necessary to change the meaning of words to cause confusion. Leftest do this to camouflage how illogical, ineffective, and just plain nutty their ideas are. When that doesen’t work they resort to name calling (you raciest) expecting that you will change the topic to defend yourself, thus diverting you from your convincing discussion (which they were losing). If that dosen’t work they will simply shout you down to shut you up. Next they will try to knock you down with real physical violence. It is what bully’s have always done thorough history; funny thing is, the present day leftest think themselves very clever for having just invented these tactics!

  15. This divide between conservatives and leftists could lead to a shooting confrontation in the future, which will be started by the left but blamed on the right as is always done by the left when they don’t get they’re way.Be prepared and ready. Keep your powder dry.

  16. Andy, how could that happen? Leftest are non judgmental people who are compassionately accepting of all types of diversity, right? The don’t own guns and don’t believe in violence of any type for any reason, right? Surely they wouldn’t get someone else who does have guns and who does believe in violence to lock us up or shoot us, right? So — everything will be OK, right?

  17. You left out the definition of multiculturalism. A 7 syllable word with a 7 syllable definition

mul ti cul tur al is m
    definition:
Get ting rid of white peo ple.

  18. Remember what Frank Luntz says “It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear”

And especially when dealing with liberals, snowflakes and buttercups, remember George Bernard Shaw’s famous quote:
“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”

  19. “Be proud of the English language. Guard it, to insist that EVERYONE use it both objectively and precisely”

    Perhaps this will help…

    Hypocrisy, definition:
A pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.

“What is tolerance? It is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error; let us pardon reciprocally each other’s folly – that is the first law of nature.” Voltaire

  20. “The most effective way of making people accept the validity of the values they are to serve is to persuade them that they are really the same as those which they… have always held… The people are made to transfer their allegiance from the old gods to the new under the pretense that the new gods really are what their sound instinct had always told them but what before they had only dimly seen. And the most effective way to this end is to use the old words but change their meaning.

Few traits of totalitarian regimes are at the same time so confusing to the superficial observer and yet so characteristic of the whole intellectual climate as the complete perversion of language, the change of meaning of the words by which the ideals of the new regimes are expressed….

If one has not one’s self experienced this process, it is difficult to appreciate the magnitude of this change of the meaning of words, the confusion it causes, and the barriers to any rational discussion which it creates… And the confusion becomes worse because this change of meaning of words describing political ideals is not a single event but a continuous process, a technique employed consciously or unconsciously to direct the people. Gradually, as this process continues, the whole language becomes despoiled, and words become empty shells deprived of any definite meaning, as capable of denoting one thing as its opposite and used solely for the emotional associations which still adhere to them.”
    — Friedrich Hayek, “The Road to Serfdom”
