  1. Re: Scotchman Peaks Wilderness. I am in favor of it. It will most likely result in the land being preserved and the surrounding area becoming more attractive over time. Unique and valuable wilderness areas should be preserved and still remain accessible to the public. It is “our” land and not just the land of the 10,000 or so people who voted on it. I might also point out that it was a close vote. Almost as many people voted for it.

    1. Anon you are wrong. There is already too much land locked away in “public hands” especially out west. This land will be used by NO ONE once it is locked away. There is no provision in the Constitution for declaring that land is to be STOLEN by the government. Who better to decide what is to happen to their community, than the 10,000 people you so easily cast aside. Let me come into your neighborhood and push you around and see how you like it. Go hug a tree! You are welcomed in Los Angeles.

  2. IMO the vote tally county-by-county just shows how much less conservative Ada county (Boise) is becoming. Soon we’ll be like Texas where the capital has become the most liberal place in the state. Unfortunately for Idahoans the majority of the population lives in Ada county. At least it’s not like Blaine county (Sun Valley, Ketchum) where the majority voted for Obama.
