I have read and re-read Alas, Babylon many times. So, it has become one of my all time favorites. As a young man growing up in the south, my mom and dad would take us to one of the black churches whenever I needed my saddle cinched down. As the preacher would talk of the Israelites and their tendency to wander or be taken away, I remember the phrase “Alas, Babylon” many times. I can’t recall which paperback I’m on, but it’s time to get a new one. If you haven’t read it yet, now is the time. Good reading.
