  1. I am a retired Firefighter, been on many Home deaths. In our jurisdiction if a person dies at home the police are called. Many are natural causes. They report in, no coroner is called. This happened when my father passed. The sheriff came and told me, you know I have to do this. I agreed. He went in, was maybe there three minutes, he came out, said I’m sorry for your loss, then was gone. That’s how it should work. DNR papers, doctors charts, multiple meds, oxygen tanks, grieving families, are all clues. Sounds like the Sheriff needs a change.
