  1. I loved that scene in “Full Metal jacket”. It reminded me of my own basic training in the 60’s. BAsic training was tough and surreal but one of the best experiences of my life.

  2. The interior of the barracks is almost identical to the Rifle Range Barracks at MCRD Parris Island South Carolina. While I went to P.I. in the ’80’s I would agree with TheRiver, Marine Boot Camp ‘was tough and surreal but one of the best experiences of my life’ hits the nail on the head.
