Preparedness Notes for Thursday – March 22, 2018

This is the birthday of Louis L’Amour. Some of his novels have survival themes. One of the most notable ones was Last of the Breed. On a side note, I recently found that the hardbound, leatherette special edition of his books has been discontinued, but you can find complete sets of them on eBay at reasonable prices.

  1. Last of The Breed was one of my favorites a real survivalist book. I enjoy L’Amour’s books and I have almost all of them. Do not miss out on his “The Walking Drum”. A book completely out of his genre but full of historical references and quite interesting to read.

  2. His autobiography, Education of a Wondering Man is outstanding, and has its share of “survival” tidbits. He did a lot of amazing and challenging jobs in his life before making writing a full-time career.
