The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

“Every good citizen makes his country’s honor his own, and cherishes it not only as precious but as sacred. He is willing to risk his life in its defense and its conscious that he gains protection while he gives it.” – Andrew Jackson

  1. A lot has happened in our great nation since Ole Hickory was in office. We had a civil war that stomped on a fair number of our liberties, and started a trend that continues on today. We also sent our sons to go fight and die in foreign wars for which we had no purpose or reason, with our leaders using the excuse that it was “the patriotic thing to do”. We’ve sold our nations soul repeatedly to special interests, both domestic and abroad. We gave up our sovereign claim to financial freedom to international bankers. We imposed a levy on the free man’s labor, thus reducing his freedom. We’ve taken land that wasn’t ours and expoited/destroyed native culture in the name of progress and manifest destiny. We’ve interfered with countless nations’ governance to serve a few power brokers interests. We kill innocent children just because they haven’t yet been born.

Kinda makes you nostalgic, don’t it? Yep, this is our country, and it shows.
