2. I take offense to the invective used in the above missive regarding terrorism. The phrase “assault rifle” is a communist pejorative, invented for the sole purpose of demonizing the American right to self defense.

   I should think everyone on this particular sight would know better. The correct terms would be “rifle”, “semiautomatic rifle”, “autoloader”, or “homeland defense rifle”.

   Let’s not help those who seek to destroy this great nation by adopting their pejoratives for our sacred rights.

   1. Take offense all you want but there is a very good chance that the gun in question was a true assault rifle as this incident happened in Manila and ISIS themselves claimed responsibility.

      I agree that the term assault rifle is often misused but in this case it was probably NOT misused.
