While food prepping is not the whole focus of this article, others might be interested in googling things like “prepping for $5 a week” or similar sites. For those on a strict budget, adding an item or two a week might be feasible.
One can at a time…
Wal-Mart also sells the Augason Farms, and they are as cheap or cheaper than Amazon.
Better prices on many Augason products at Sam’s – checked 5/12
You can order direct from Augasonfarms.com. I have bought from them when they have their 50% off sales.
Also check garage sales. A lot of times you can make good deals on clothes, hand tools etc on the last day of a garage sell.
Augason wheat berries are less at Walmart.
We have become conditioned to believe that Amazon Prime free shipping is the best deal. Everyday I find this is not so. Shop around.
all great advice, but focus on this one factoid that makes it all worthwhile: relax, if prepping isn’t fun it’s lacking a fundamental element.
WATER both storage & methods of sanitation. just start with that. buy ordinary bleach with ~6% sodium hypochlorite (2-4 drops per liter), and some blue plastic 55 gallon food grade barrels. just start with that. water.
I don’t have a business and have had a lot of things delivered from Costco.com. Everything I’ve gotten was also free shipping, although they do charge for some items.
A reader (Jim) wrote in to remind people that Costco and Google do have anti-gun and pro LGBT policies.
over $100 for 55 gal barrels??? should be closer to $1/gallon for water storage. at my local calranch store they have 50 gallon barrels for $35 each.
