Glock: The popular polymer-framed pistol design by Gaston Glock of Austria. Also derisively known as “Combat Tupperware ” by their detractors, because they were the first maker to ship their pistols in a plastic box with a snap lid. Glocks are a favorite of gun writer Boston T. Party.
GLONASS: “Global Navigation Satellite System”, is a space-based satellite navigation system operated by the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces.

G.O.O.D.: Get Out of Dodge–the author’s generic acronym for leaving the big city in a hurry WTSHTF. (Acronym coined by JWR). I also use the term “bug out” and the British soccer term “take the gap.” The term Get Out of Dodge kit is synonymous with Bug Out Bag. See also: BOB, INCH, and WTSHTF.

gr: Grain. The measure of mass used for firearm projectiles (bullets) is grains. A grain is a unit of lead mass measurement, roughly equal to 1/3 of a carat or 65 MG. 16 grains is roughly equal to 1 gram. Also used as a measure of mass for smokeless powder (nitro-cellulose) propellant.
