Searching the listings at Armslist, I spotted a humorous ad for AR parts from Haynes & Sons–an Federally-licensed dealer in Spokane:
“Due to i1639 Haynes and Sons Guns will no longer be selling, for the most part, AR15s. We will be selling upper and lower receivers, and if you decide to buy a combo for a discount and later assemble the two, that is between you and the Lord. But as far as the State is concerned that will be only a Federal NICS check with no waiting period, no extra fees, no needed class. The ATF and NICS have agreed that WA residents will be able to purchase lower receivers for the next year until Washington state is able to make provisions for the transfer. Please respect our wishes to no longer sell this deadly and evil weapon, and only to sell harmless receivers. Thank you for your support.”

The leftist editors of the free tabloid newspaper The Inlander outdid themselves in libel, slurs, and innuendos, when they approved publication of this piece written by Daniel Walters: An apocalyptic book series shows the type of society Rep. Matt Shea and his allies dream of rebuilding. The article is peppered with phrases like: “I consider it a threat to our democracy” and “Dystopian and apocalyptic novels are extremely useful tools for shaping all manner of radical and extreme politics…” Walters tried to somehow associate Glen Tate’s anti-racist novels with the grossly racist novel The Turner Diaries. In flagrant disregard for their personal safety and at the risk of destroying their livelihoods, Walters also outed both author Tate and his wife’s real names. He also implied that Matt Shea was a ghost writer. My advice: Do not trust anything that you read in The Inlander, other than civic event announcements! Their slurs go beyond mere bias and border on outright propaganda.

Any author writing under a pen name runs the risk of being identified by their true name. I don’t agree with the way the Inlander writer did it, but it was bound to happen ar some point. I am going to take a wild guess here and say that Glen Tate will see a significant increase in book sales and demand for his day job services. He’s also going to attract some unwanted attention but it’s going to come from people like the Inlander author who can’t figure out why people read action/dystopian novels in the first place. We all like an escape, and it’s better when the story aligns with fixing some of the bad stuff we see in society. Let this story explode – Glen Tate can engineer it to his benefit.

Henry: you are right in quoting him. I have been to court recently and due process is out and allegations of just about any bureaucrat is taken as truth by the courts. It does no good to know the law as most judges ignore it.
They Wyo jump might be just the Coal company bankruptcy. I think WY has the lowest population, so even what in other states wouldn’t register moves the stats (in other news, Kiplinger’s said WY is the most tax friendly state).
There are probably even more great old trucks than cars in the Redoubt, but I see them on the roads and in the parking lots.
