HB8 will likely be passed in the house. I doubt if it will reach a vote in the senate. In either case, if its passed by both …… I’m certain President trump will Veto the bill.
As a stand-alone bill he is now unlikely to sign it. (But three months ago, he favored it.) But if it is bundled into other legislation that he wants, then I’m afraid that he will sign off.
If…….if it gets through, as much as it may cost, we back up the system with so many “marriages” and subsequent “annulments” that localities and states will beg for relief from the backlog of “immediate family” weapon transfers. Does that make sense or am I dellusional?
They can pass all the laws they want.
Guys like me; married to the same woman for 33 years, 2 grown kids, college educated, christian, middle class, friendly with all my neighbors, historically law abiding and tax paying citizen, just a normal go along and leave me alone guy, will not obey or abide by these types of laws.
I suspect there are going to be a lot of them.
