Preparedness Notes for Monday — August 10, 2020

On August 10th, 1984, Red Dawn, the first PG-13 rated movie, starring Patrick Swayze was released. The movie (the 1984 original, not the 2012 remake) is a favorite of both JWR and HJL. The movie embodies the independent, indomitable spirit that created this country.

Two newly-listed properties, over at SurvivalRealty.com:

70 acres outside Kamiah (inside the reservation), with “almost Artesian” well, for $200,000.

and,

Off-grid cabin on 5 acres, north of Cedar City Utah for $250,000

Jonathan Rawles (My #1 Son), who owns SurvivalRealty.com mentioned: “We’re continuing to see extremely low property inventory in many rural regions, and a surprising number of properties selling before even being listed on the MLS, or before being advertised publicly.”

Today we present another review by our Field Gear Editor, Pat Cascio.

    1. Looting is now a constant in Seattle, Chicago, and Portland. Scroll down this feed to see video after video of what is mostly not on the news. Law enforcement is mostly nonexistent and they attack government buildings and loot businesses causally. I follow Matt Bracken’s Gab page and get a quickly updated each morning. They are now moving into the suburbs. Leave now. The Police will not protect you and your mayor and governors silently condone it. Nothing will be done to stop this. It will only get worse.

          1. Tunnel Rabbit,

I am touched at your offer, and not only do I accept, but I will ask you to do the hardest thing for me; please pray. The Holy Spirit will make it right…

            Thank you so much!

I watched some of your other links to, “Southern Prepper.” Wow. Did I learn a ton. What a great teacher. Thank you for sharing the videos.

For the present, I am a long way from harms way, plus I have 2 LEO and a K-9 GSD on both sides of my house, as well as a few military guys in the neighborhood…

Blessings to you and thank you for your amazing offer to help,
            Krissy

          1. Hi, Once a Marine, I confess I don’t understand your comment, but, yes, I did get very angry watching the violent, thieving rioters destroy other peoples businesses. Even though I hadn’t seen Lonesome Dove for decades, that movie scene came immediately into my mind. Woodrow’s character is a man of strength which the city of Seattle and the state of Washington are in need of to take care of these domestic terrorists destroying Seattle.
I had to see what was still happening in Seattle from Tunnel Rabbit in Montana providing video links, because the Seattle news hasn’t been showing the evil going on. They’ll only show some broken business windows the next day and sweetly mention the clean up.

Anyways, all that to say, this was just me being real. No pretension. What would be the point? The Lord knows all my thoughts anyway. I apologize if I have offended you. You may find comfort in knowing that I confess my sins to the Lord nearly everyday, and He washes me
clean because He cannot break His word.

“If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.”

If you knew of my backstory of being in an abusive marriage for over thirty years, you would understand why I like male characters who are protectors.

Here’s another shocker. Guess my favorite character and scene in the Predator movie, and no it’s not with Arnold.

            It’s the Indian guy.
He sends Arnold and others onward to escape while sacrificing himself against the alien. All you see is his strength and courage, as he stands on the tree log, knife in hand ready to face whatever comes. Screams ensue and you know it was a good death…

Sorry, I got off track. What can I say. I ponder too, why I am the way I am. I am a work in progress. Blessings to you and yours, Krissy

          2. Thank you for your forthrightness, Krissy. After reading your post, all I wanted to do is offer you a comforting hug.

            I gratefully accept your blessings.

My comment had nothing to do with taking offense. More to do with your breadth of expression. I seldom see a video clip from a western in the same post as reference to Holy Spirit, who I look to for guidance. Regarding Lonesome Dove, my sweet spouse and I read the book to each other on our honeymoon. As she was driving us home, I was reading a beautiful, touching passage and was weeping. Looked over to her and she, too, was weeping. I immediately suggested we weep in a stopped car on the shoulder. She agreed. We sat there, holding hands and crying for the longest time. Even as I write this, my eyes mist up.

I applaud you for having the strength to leave an abusive marriage. May the Holy spirit continue to bring you healing. I send you prayers and will ask my sweetheart to join me in praying for your full healing.

I’m glad to know you are, like I am, in the “work in progress” battalion.

            Carry on, in grace

          3. Once a Marine,

Your kindness is like medicine. I feel so blessed by your response, tears are falling. Please thank your sweet wife from me for both your prayers. May the Lord repay you a hundred fold!

I was wondering what your heartfelt weeping scene was. Unfortunately, I never read the book. However, in the movie, I think I wept the hardest when Gus died and then Lori got her letter from him. I wept and wept so much my throat hurt…

            My favorite quote:

(Clara offers Sheriff July Johnson a job on the horse ranch so she can help raise baby Martin.)

Sheriff: “I don’t know anything about ranching’ and raising horses.”

Clara: “You’re not stupid are ya? You can learn can’t cha?”

I think my kids heard Clara’s line a thousand times growing up…

Hope you are both well and enjoy your week, Krissy

          4. Now my eyes are stinging, Krissy. With your tender gratitude.

Then with you mentioning the scene where Gus dies. That was it for us. So heart-wrenching. The movie did the book justice, down to minute details.

Being connectd with you enriches my life. I see you allowing the Holy Spirit to act through you in this world.

            Carry on, in grace

  1. In Wyoming we are a very welcoming people. We welcome anyone, from anywhere, regardless of your political persuasion. If your a Liberal, please come on out and bring your money, spend it, and head on back to where you came from. If your a True Conservative, come look around, and you may find that you would like to live here. See how friendly we are! Trekker Out

    1. I was in high school when that movie came out. Seeing in the theaters was fun.

The audience singing “America the Beautiful” during that one scene. And cheering whenever the commies got their comeuppance.

It wasn’t just a movie, it was an experience. And a training film.

I feel so sorry for the generation that got that awful remake instead.

PS – There was even a book published earlier that year called “What To Do When the Russians Come”.

    2. Partisan Rock

In the early days of World War III, guerrillas, mostly children, placed the names of their lost upon this rock.

They fought here alone and gave up their lives “so that this nation shall not perish from the earth.”

      – Erica (Lea Thompson)

  2. Also, as of right now (5:30 AM) complete chaos in downtown Chicago. Rioting, looting, shooting. All expressway exits closed to downtown, all bridges have been lifted to prevent people coming in or out of downtown and all train service has been stopped

Buckle up kids, it’s coming to a city near you! (Hopefully NOT)

Have a Rockin great day, watch out for yourself

      1. RCB5472TN,

Thank you for your kind words. I’m well over 100 miles from this madness. I just knew it would be a matter of time before this happened here. This is on top of the record amount of shootings that happened in Chicago EVERY weekend.

        Praying for everyone’s safety.

        Rock on

  3. Here is an example of what we can find on Matt Bracken’s Gab page. During this time leading up to civil war, Bracken’s valuable insights will be available:

“Antifa terrorists in Austin, Portland just received a large cache of weapons in preparation for coordinated multi-city “TET offensive” against America
Monday, August 10, 2020 by: Mike Adams

We’ve just learned that Antifa terrorist groups in Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon have received a large cache of weapons that are being handed to them in preparation for a coordinated, multi-city uprising. Dubbed the “TET Offensive” by Dave Hodges (The Commonsense Show), this planned multi-city attack looks likely to take place before the coming election, as anti-American forces now realize Joe Biden cannot win. So their new goal is to unleash so much chaos across America that elections must be suspended, allowing the Marxist media to roll out its “Trump is a dictator” narrative.

This new delivery of weapons to Antifa forces on or around August 9th has been confirmed by reliable sources. It is consistent with previous announcements by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) describing government seizures of full-auto weapons parts and illegal suppressors that were intercepted during shipment from communist China to several U.S. cities, including Detroit MI, Louisville KY, and Melbourne FL.

Here’s a photo of one of the recent CBP seizures of full-auto weapons parts that turn AR-15s into military-grade battle rifles: [rest at link]”
