This weekly column features news stories and event announcements from around the American Redoubt region. (Idaho, Montana, eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and Wyoming.) Much of the region is also more commonly known as The Inland Northwest. We also mention companies located in the American Redoubt region that are of interest to preppers and survivalists. Today, some news about fake news from fake newspapers. (See the Region-Wide section.)

This was posted at the left-wing Idaho Capital Sun pseudo-newspaper website: Idaho Senate passes Texas-style immigration bill; ACLU says it will sue if it becomes law. JWR’s Comments: The “States Newsroom” organization is a Washington, DC and North Carolina-based political pressure group that posts Democrat/socialist propaganda masquerading as state-level news reporting. They created 50 websites with fake newspaper names for all 50 states. During election seasons, they mail out hardcopy newsprint fake “newspapers”, primarily to voters in states with tight contests. Last summer, for example, they deluged Montana, hoping to keep Democrat Jon Tester in office. (That didn’t work.) Here in the American Redoubt, their fake “newsrooms” include: Oregon Capital Chronicle, Washington State Standard, Idaho Capital Sun, Daily Montanan, and WyoFile. (According to Wikipedia: “States Newsroom is a U.S. tax-exempt organization that serves as an umbrella organization for state-focused news outlets with progressive editorial outlooks. Launched in 2019, it began as a sponsored project of the Hopewell Fund, a left-leaning nonprofit that does not disclose its donors. It grew out of NC Policy Watch, a progressive think tank in North Carolina founded by Chris Fitzsimon.”) Oh, by the way, one of the Hopewell Fund’s sponsors is the globalist Rockefeller Foundation. If you want the truth, then follow the money. – JWR
