To be prepared for a crisis, every Prepper must establish goals and make both long-term and short-term plans. In this column, the SurvivalBlog editors review their week’s prep activities and planned prep activities for the coming week. These range from healthcare and gear purchases to gardening, ranch improvements, bug-out bag fine-tuning, and food storage. This is something akin to our Retreat Owner Profiles, but written incrementally and in detail, throughout the year. Jim Reports:
This week we did a bit of snowplowing. I also got some work done, remodeling our workshop. And I constructed a full-height 3′ x7′ poultry wire mesh room within our henhouse. We plan to use that room for specific breeding and to protect our baby chicks. The framework for that room was constructed with mixture of 2x2s and 2x4s. Its door is a framework of 2x2s with a 2×4 cross-brace, with poultry wire stapled on.
