If you have contact with any law enforcement officer in any capacity, be ready to exercise your 5th Amendment right to remain silent. Simply say, “Respectfully, on the advice of my attorney, I am exercising my Constitutional right guaranteed by the 5th Amendment to remain silent. Please address your questions to my attorney.” Then say NOTHING else. If pressed, just repeat that phrase, as needed.
