Gear & Grub (Mora Sheath Knife):
Reader D.C.H. wrote to mention that he really enjoys his Morakniv Companion sheath knife. They are often found retail priced under $14! Just be sure to look closely when Internet-ordering Mora brand knives, since some of them are sold new without sheaths.

We bought one of these two months ago, and have been very happy with it: Epson Workforce ET-3750 EcoTank Wireless Color All-in-One Supertank Printer with Scanner, Copier and Ethernet (Certified Refurbished). The refillable ink reservoirs are huge. Setting it up was very easy and only took a few minutes. It is great now being able to print color pages or to make color photocopies without feeling like a spendthrift.

We use a pair of these at the Rawles Ranch: APC Sine Wave UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector, 1500VA, APC Back-UPS Pro (BR1500MS). If you ever run a backup generator or operate a PV power system with an inverter, then these are A MUST, to protect your electronics.

I bought a couple of these for recent AR builds: NC Star Double Carbine Case, Green, Large/42. They make them several lengths. Note: Be forewarned that these are made in mainland China. Just like tennis shoes, it is getting difficult to find soft gun cases made anywhere else!

Here at the ranch, we regularly order this by the case: Native Forest Organic Classic Coconut Milk. (That works out to about 56 cents less per can than at the supermarket, and fro Amazon Prime members, the shipping is free.)

I’m not a coffee drinker, but I’ve heard that this brand is the best freeze dried coffee for long term storage: Franklin’s Finest Survival Coffee 720-Servings by Patriot Pantry. Stack it deep, with some extra for barter!
You see, a knife that sells for 14 bucks just doesn’t rate a full court press. But rase it’s price to 200 dollars you’ll get the full biography. It’s good I already know a little something about Mora knives. (Having one in my collection.) Besides, inexpensive knives sell themselves.
Levin is a Statist who wants to overthrow the Constitution, as if it hasn’t happened by piecemeal already, with a series of amendments that grants GOVERNMENT positive rights to itself over people and property. He is a tyrant at heart and I won’t support any venture of his including buying his books.
Which of his proposed amendments do you object to?
I think you may be confusing Mr. Levin with someone else. It would help if you provided details. It may clear up the confusion.
Are you referring to Fred or me?
Sorry. I was referring to Fred and must have slipped twixt mouse and brain.
Fred, is it the Constitutional Convention or the actual amendments you are concerned with? If it’s the convention, then you need to come up with a lawful way to fix the problems we are having. If it’s the amendments, which of these amendments would a ‘statist’ support?
Impose Congressional term limits
Repeal the Seventeenth Amendment, returning the election of Senators to state legislatures
Impose term limits for Supreme Court Justices and restrict judicial review
Require a balanced budget and limit federal spending and taxation
Define a deadline to file taxes (one day before the next federal election)
Subject federal departments and bureaucratic regulations to periodic reauthorization and review
Limit eminent domain powers
Allow states to more easily amend the Constitution by bypassing Congress
Create a process where two-thirds of the states can nullify federal laws
Require photo ID to vote and limit early voting

Take a fresh look at what he is trying to do. You’ll find it in the “individual’s” best interest.
I’ve been impressed with the Morakniv line up for a few years now. These are tough knives with decent steel and priced very low. The sheaths are very durable as well. They make great additions to get home bags and I’ve added them to our family bags until my young adult children figure out what specific manufacturer and model they prefer. They make great gifts too!
I have been using Mora knives for decades. I even grind them so I can use them for removing the background in relief carving on gunstocks.
In fact I have been using a lot of Scandinavian knives my entire life. great steel in those blades.
I own a half-dozen Mora knives. “Sharp” is almost an understatement, and they are of a size that allows me to store them in nooks and crannies in packpacks, my pickup truck, my wife’s car, my work space, tool boxes, the knife drawer in the kitchen, and on the nightstand next to my bed. There is nothing on the knife market that is anywhere close to the quality for the money, than a knife made in Mora, Sweden. Be sure to buy one via the Amazon link at Survival Blog. (Amazon will always let you know whether or not the sheath is included.)
“There is nothing on the knife market that is anywhere close to the quality for the money, than a knife made in Mora, Sweden” – well said. I think the plastic ‘tube sheath’ design is a bit wanting though. They will crack at top if knife is pushed into it to keep from falling out. The older designs with strap keeper at knife butt having a brass knob is very good.
If you are needing an inexpensive folding knife with good cutting ability, the Opinel is worth looking at.
After watching the Wranglerstar U tube video I am ready to puke. Censorship of any fashion is someone playing God and we all know there is only one who is qualified for that role. It should be viewed as a violation of our first amendment rights and perpetrators should be prosecuted unless it is voluntarily allowed by the author. I am not advocating that children should not have their impute monitored and controlled by their parents, but government and others should not violate our rights to free speech. The word Ban also follows as despicable as well; for what is a ban? It seems that a ban today is usually the capricious miss use of power by persons who wish to take away your rights as a citizen. I submit that we are adults are able to make our own decisions as to what we want to watch, listen to, read, or posses. It is time to make this clear to politicians, bureaucrats, and other alleged do-gooders, mind your own business, we can take care of ourselves.
@ Joe – “Censorship of any fashion is someone playing God and we all know there is only one who is qualified for that role.”
Well said. It would be great if freedom loving people followed this thought, too. #commentdeleted
@Joe, the owners of youtube do not support guns. How is this different than the owners of the bakery that refuse to support homosexuality. Their house their rules. Liberty cuts both ways.
Liberty depends on self-reliance. Building systems such as youtube is hard work and expensive. The owners put a lot of skin in the game. Listening to conservatives whine about youtube tells me that we failed to learn the lesson here. We need to build our own systems and stop depending on the Left to carry our water.
It is a case of a government suported monopoly or utility used to bypass longstanding protections.
I was laughing when I watched it!!! So YouTube is so concerned I might hear dangerous word like Gun or shooting and even the vile evil combination of the letter M followed by even more evil four but they didn’t block out the firearm itself or block the video?? Folks I don’t understand how a company that thinks that is doing anything stays in business! They are a bunch of fools.
I don’t understand how that video is censored when it’s still up on YouTubes website?
Nathan, Did you not hear the Bleeps? Perhaps you should listen to a bit more when they start occurring regularly. They are not bleeping swear words.
Joe, thanks. I didn’t understand that either. My dog went ballistic at every beep so that didn’t help my concentration.
I simply censor YouTube. Entirely. Monetize that!
Montana Guy, I do not disagree about you tube being a private entity but when you remove words from a posting you are guilty of publishing out of context if not approved by the author. This is the basis of many libel lawsuits. To just refuse to post the video is okay even if it is censorship, there of course should be an other place to post. Doesn’t this censorship smack of hypocrisy from the lefts demands for net neutrality or have I missed something?
The problem with Franklin’s Finest is that it is better than almost all coffee available (if you dont like Starbucks incinerator roast and its imitators).
I also have Zavida unsweetened flavorings, e.g. amoretto and hazlenut (not merely sugar free, not sweet)
After reading some of the reviews about Franklin’s Finest coffee I think I’ll pass. There’s too many complaints about poor package sealing. Proper packaging for any long term survival product is half of the equation.
My son recently told me about a book series that is called “299 Days” by Glen Tate. This is about a collapse that still has electricity and the government and financial system goes south and how they survive the 299 days that it takes to get thing up an running again. I have gotten thru the first 2 books of 10 and will be finishing the series. I listen while driving as I drive a lot for work.
Julia: I too read the 299 Days series and it is a good page turner however, I lost count and got real tired of how many times the author used the phrase (or similar phrases) “Man, we looked cool” or “We looked like a professional military / contractor Team”, when describing how his team looked in their 511 brand pants and their $500.00 LBT (London Bridge) web gear set up. It was literally 3-5 times in each book (I didn’t actually count, I’m just guessing), but other than that, not a bad read.
I’ve listened to interviews with Glenn Tate on In the Rabbit Hole, and he creeps me out.
His dictation is eerily similar to a sociopath I crossed paths with, but my main objection was that he talked about a bugout villiage for his tribe. Problem was, they didn’t own all of the properties, and were planning on squatting. He made a point to say if the owners claimed the property they would vacate, but later admitted that the owners weren’t going to survive anyway. Long story short, I consider him little more than a marauder. I wonder if they would really vacate, and if they were going to see to it that the owners didn’t survive, if you catch my drift.
