I recently watched a fascinating documentary about F-105 pilots in the Vietnam war, on Amazon Prime: Thud Pilots. Very few of these guys got through a 100-mission tour unscathed. They really had guts.

My #2 Son—who is very tech savvy—tells me this is presently the best laptop for the money is the 2019 Dell Inspiron 3000 Series 15.6 HD Touchscreen. He described it as: “Screamin’ fast, with a terabyte drive, and tons of RAM.” I have to agree: It is probably the best laptop that you can buy for under $500.

The FireKing Fireproof Filing Cabinets are great for safeguarding documents. They are also a fairly covert and secure place to store your collection of handguns. Just be sure to use Bianchi Blue Bags and a couple of silica gel bags (or canisters) in each drawer, since fireproofing gradually emits a bit of moisture.
Checked out the Dell computer. The basic 4 gig 1 year is $500. More memory jacks up price depending on what you order.
Started reading The Creature From Jekyll Island recommended by a friend and Mr. Rawles. Just the first 20 pages are such an eye opener, awaiting the rest of the book.
Yes, it is. You might also like The Forgotten Man by Amity Schlaes. She gives economic and political depth to the Great Depression and the movers and shakers around FDR. It, too, is eye opening and a great alternative to the worshipfulness America has about FDR and his “saving” the country.
That Dell Inspiron has a glaring flaw. A SSD is a must-have instead of a slow and unreliable HD. Hard drives have a nasty failure rate but it’s rare for SSDs to fail. I’ve refurbished many an old laptop with new SSDs and they’re finally inexpensive again. A 1080p screen would be very nice to have unless your eyes have gone bad and you can’t read small fonts anyhow. CPU isn’t much of an issue for most people though I prefer AMD’s Ryzen over Intel given a choice. You can find 1080p Ryzen laptops with SSDs for close to that Inspiron price on sale at the usual big box stores.
