The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

“Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of Liberty.” – Thomas Jefferson

  1. From Townhall:

Despite the contributions from Thomas Jefferson to the city of Charlottesville, VA and the American people, such as the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of one of the world’s greatest universities, the University of Virginia, the city’s government voted on Monday to officially unrecognize his birthday as a holiday.

    1. Having owned a home in Charlottesville for nearly a decade, I can assure you that Thomas Jefferson would now find most of it revolting and vile. From the zombified University students that randomly walk into traffic while staring at their phones, to the semi-literate mayor, I imagine old TJ would projectile vomit if he were to see what his beloved city has become.
The uber-wealthy social justice warriors that support and fund the “moral outrage” organizations responsible for the removal of the holiday you mentioned, hide within a gated subdivision on the outskirts of town known as Glenmore. With security measures rivaling those of the White House, you will not see a brown person of any flavor inside the walls unless they’re doing yard work. However, it is those same wealthy, bored housewives and other sufferers of “white guilt” that seek to erase not only the history of Jefferson but also that of our country, while enjoying the rewards it provides.
