This is the birthday of novelist Ayn Rand (born Alisa Zinov’yevna Rosenbaum in 1905), died – March 6, 1982) She is of course remembered for her novel Atlas Shrugged, which is considered a Libertarian classic. I’m pleased to report that the expanded SurvivalBlog 2005-2012 archive has been selling at a fast pace, both via digital download and on DVD. This is anniversary of the heroic death of USAF Capt. Lance Sijan. Though he was severely injured, he evaded capture for an amazing 46 days after ejecting from his F-4 Phantom over North Vietnam. He was eventually captured and tortured. He died on January 22, 1968 in Hanoi.
