Notes from HJL:

As of Saturday afternoon (April 12, 2014), it appears that the supporters of Cliven Bundy, through their rapid response and willingness to escalate, have successfully forced the hand of the Feds. The court orders still stand, but the BLM has (wisely) decided that to pursue the matter further would endanger the safety of the public and their employees. You can bet that the situation is not resolved, but the inappropriate escalation of the BLM is done for now. Hopefully, this will go back to the courts for resolution rather than to the field. o o o Today we present another …

Notes from HJL:

The Bundy Ranch continues to spiral with the BLM not backing down, and the militias are beginning to show up. This escalation of the conflict is not good and will result in bloodshed, unless the federal government backs down. For those who are not sure about what rights are being violated, I’ve broken it down into several sections here: First Amendment rights. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition …

Notes from HJL:

There are a number of things about the Fed’s handling of the events in Nevada that are absolutely repugnant. First and foremost among them is the idea that in the middle of the desert, they feel they can put up a few fenced off areas for the people to express their First Amendment rights. The BLM thugs would do well to remember that there is already a First Amendment area in place– it’s called the United States of America! In today’s video, you will see unarmed citizens protesting the actions and movements of the BLM. You will also see the …

Notes from HJL:

There is a developing story that has not been reported by the mainstream media yet, and its effects are far reaching. In 1992, federal agents squared off against Randy Weaver and his family/friends in an incident known as “Ruby Ridge”. While the merits of Mr. Weaver’s case can be and has been argued, the bottom line is the Federal Government used inappropriate, overwhelming force and tactics in dealing with the situation. (We might also mention that there was no real disciplinarian action taken against those who were guilty of taking innocent American lives either.) We now have, what appears to …

Rest assured, we have not been abducted by aliens or carried off by the NSA. We have been having issues with our Internet service provider and are currently working those issues. We hope to have everything taken care of by the end of this week, so please bear with us.

Notes from HJL:

We survived another April Fools Day. When you deal with the subjects that we deal with, it is sometimes difficult to tell truth from fiction, and I’m glad that’s over with now. While I found most of the jokes in very poor taste, I did enjoy this one video: Tactical Assault Staple Gun. Thank you P.S. for that link. o o o Today we present another entry for Round 52 of the SurvivalBlog non-fiction writing contest. Notes from HJL:

April 1st is both April Fool’s Day and (unofficially) Molly Ivins Day. The latter refers to this key verse: “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1 KJV) April 1st, 1886 was the birthday of Arthur W. Pink (died 15 July 1952), who was a English Christian evangelist and excellent Reformed Biblical scholar. It was his meticulously referenced arguments in his book The Soverignty of God that first convinced me of the truth of the doctrine of Election. o o o No foolin’, the Product Review Editor position at SurvivalBlog has been filled. We sincerely …

Notes from HJL: Concerning the emerging story coming out of Jemez Springs, New Mexico, we have been waiting for the other shoe to drop. I have no love for the TSA and wouldn’t be surprised by the actions I have seen taken, but there is apparently more to the story. C.L. sent in this link showing that the TSA triggered on the idea that the sheriff was traveling under a different name. o o o Also, P.W. instructs us that the reason the FDA is clamping down on drug companies over animal antibiotics is to target the industry that routinely …
