Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“We have lost the government we learned about in civics class, with its democratic election of representatives to do the voters’ will in framing laws, which the president vows to execute faithfully, unless the Supreme Court rules them unconstitutional. That small government of limited powers that the Founders designed, hedged with checks and balances, hasn’t operated for a century. All its parts still have their old names and appear to be carrying out their old functions. But in fact, a new kind of government has grown up inside the old structure, like those parasites hatched in another organism that grow …

SurvivalBlog’s Orwell Awards – 2016

As promised (but after a delay) we are announcing our first set of Orwell Awards. These are awarded to individuals and organizations who have abused the English language with Newspeak distortions in ways that degrade our liberty, our dignity, our heritage, and the truth, in the past year. Our thanks to the many readers who e-mailed us their nominations. We plan to issue these awards annually. The winners are: First Place: Barack Hussein Obama, for his “Gender Identity Mandate“. Under Obama’s twisted logic, any school, organization, agency, or business will be denied Federal funds or contracts if they don’t allow …

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Seeing the stock plastic sights on a Glock in use is like seeing picture frames with the sample picture still inside them, or someone trying to pay for their purchases with the cardboard “credit cards” that came in their wallet. It’s a little sad and awkward and you feel sorry for the person and don’t know quite what to say.” – Tamara K., Editor of the View From The Porch blog.

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Those open to warnings of the ongoing collapse have, by now, listened, understood and been moved to act. Perhaps further warnings are largely futile. It may even be too late for those who have not yet acted. The skills and resources now going into warning the unreceptive may be better directed elsewhere. Some ‘warnings’ are little more than lead-ins to sales pitches. Preparationalism shouldn’t be a cause, or something akin to a business, committed to growing its base. If that’s the model then we’re captive to a model rather than builders of a resilient means for survival. The preparationalist-survivalist movement …

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost. But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such …

The Trusting Type?

I just received this e-mail: Greetings, I know you will be surprise to read my email. Apart from being surprise you may be skeptical to reply me because based on what is happening on the internet world one has to be very careful because a lot of scammers are out there to scam innocent citizens and this has made very difficult for people to believe anything that comes through internet. My name is Capt. Kate Carr Lee. I am a member of the US ARMY medical team deployed to Iraq because of the current ISIS problems. I discover 2 trunk …

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Negative interest rates are Mammon’s Götterdämmerung. The money cult is bolstered by the idea that its huge and all-powerful deity will be even more huge and all-powerful tomorrow; if the opposite is demonstrably the case, then people’s faith in it begins to falter and fade. Negative interest rates are like an icy-cold bath for Mammon, causing its godhead to shrink a little more with every dip. People see that, and think, ‘I don’t want to worship his shrinking yarbles.’ Then they go and spend their own yarbles on anything they can find—fallow land, vacant houses, golden calves, boxes of brass …

Notes for Monday – July 18, 2016

The vast majority of recent headlines about the Islamist Bastille Day terror attack in Nice, France mysteriously seem to have missing words. “Truck rams Bastille Day crowd in Nice, France, killing at least 84” shouts the Washington Post. The Philadelphia Star headline proclaims: “Bastille Day Horror: Terror Truck Kills 84 in France.” And The New York Times headline reads: “Scores Die in Nice, France, as Truck Plows Into Bastille Day Crowd.” The missing words are of course: “Islamist terrorist driving a…” America’s leftist journalists seem to have selective blindness. And when they write headlines, they are selectively mute. Journalists consistently …

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.” – Psalm 37:1-2, 7-9 (KJV)

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Western Europe presently exists in a state of anarcho-tyranny. The governments of Europe can’t prevent Islamic terror or migrant rapes, but it can arrest any citizen who worries about these awful acts on Facebook. The power of the state is increased at the cost of its citizens’ liberty — with no security in return.” – Scott Greer, in a Daily Caller opinion piece
