Notes for Monday – July 18, 2016

The vast majority of recent headlines about the Islamist Bastille Day terror attack in Nice, France mysteriously seem to have missing words. “Truck rams Bastille Day crowd in Nice, France, killing at least 84” shouts the Washington Post. The Philadelphia Star headline proclaims: “Bastille Day Horror: Terror Truck Kills 84 in France.” And The New York Times headline reads: “Scores Die in Nice, France, as Truck Plows Into Bastille Day Crowd.” The missing words are of course: “Islamist terrorist driving a…” America’s leftist journalists seem to have selective blindness. And when they write headlines, they are selectively mute. Journalists consistently …

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.” – Psalm 37:1-2, 7-9 (KJV)

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Western Europe presently exists in a state of anarcho-tyranny. The governments of Europe can’t prevent Islamic terror or migrant rapes, but it can arrest any citizen who worries about these awful acts on Facebook. The power of the state is increased at the cost of its citizens’ liberty — with no security in return.” – Scott Greer, in a Daily Caller opinion piece

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Cage of freedom That’s our prison Where the jailer and captive combine Cage of freedom Cast in power All the trappings of our own design Blind ambition Steals our reason We’re soon behind those invisible bars On the inside Looking outside To make it safer we double the guard Cage of freedom There’s no escaping We fabricated a world of our own Cage of freedom, growing smaller ‘Til every wall now touches the skin Cage of freedom, filled with treason Changing sides as the losses begin Our suspicion tries escaping But they step up the security There’s no exit–there’s no …

Jim’s Quote of the Day:

“Reports of widespread hunger in collapsing Venezuela confirms my opinion: food stands alone as the indispensable preparation for survival. Why? All else can be managed as needed, they’re answerable with non-perishable inventory, often with as-found inventory. By “all else” I mean the other two of “cold-wet-hungry”. You can be any two of these and survive, but not all three. You may be cold or wet on a given day, but you will be hungry every day. No gaps. Therefore: solve food first.” – Ol’ Remus, in his Yer Ol’ Woodpile Report

Hillary’s Lies, The Air Gap Rule, and Systematic Perfidy

FBI Director James Comey flat out lied to the American people yesterday, when he described Hillary Clinton and the State Department’s staffers as “extremely careless” and declined to refer her case for prosecution. What they actually did was far more serious than “careless”. Without a doubt, they willfully, criminally, treasonously carried out deliberate steps to copy classified paragraphs to an unsecure private server, and then they lied about it and also tried to delete files and confound investigators to cover their tracks. By not confirming this perfidy with a criminal referral, Mr. Comey just made himself an indirect party to …

Coping With California’s Six New Gun and Magazine Ban Laws

This year’s Independence Day celebrations have been muted by news of the enactment of six tyrannical new gun, ammunition, and magazine laws in California. California’s leftist legislature in now crowing about how they “did something” in response to the Islamic terror attack in San Bernadino last year. Six of 10 new “Gunmeggddon” laws that they passed were just signed into law by Democrat Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown. Courtesy of the NRA-ILA, here is a summary of Governor Brown’s actions: SIGNED BOTH– Assembly Bill 1135 and Senate Bill 880 will make changes of monumental scale to California’s firearm laws by reclassifying …
