The Passion of The Christ. Long available on DVD and BluRay, this great movie is also now available for streaming to those with Amazon Prime.

The Conversation. This is a classic film starring Gene Hackman. It makes an interesting companion piece to his much later film on a similar theme, Enemy of the State. My, how surveillance technology has advanced! The Conversation is now available for streaming to those with Amazon Prime.
Online Videos:
Klein Tools Serrated Duct Knife – A Cool Knife With Possibilities! JWR’s Comment: These knives are well-made, and surprisingly inexpensive (around $15.) This knife might skirt the restrictions on carry of double-edged knives, in some states. (Consult an attorney licensed in your state!) If you want one, then please order it through our Amazon link, so that we get out little piece of the action. Thanks.

The Patriot Nurse: Why I Don’t Trust Ammo Hoarders
Gear & Grub:
These combination pliers/wire cutters and fence staple hammers are made in USA, and really work well. They are also built to last. I recommend buying a couple of pairs, so that you can leave one pair on your ATV–or in a saddlebag, and still have one pair at home! Channellock 85 Fence Tool.

RanchEx 102574 Woven Wire Fencing Stretcher Bar Tensioning Tool with Hooks, Gray
o o o
TEKTON 5541 2-Ton Power Puller. (And these, of course, are useful for much more than just fencing work. Buy a pair!

Dutton-Lainson 400 All-Purpose Fence Stretcher/Splicer

I do tree work and one of my most used pieces of equipment is a Maasdam rope puller. This is a great piece of gear that works best with a 1/2” triple twist bull rope. I use this for rigging and pulling all the time. The great thing about it is if you have a 200’ rope, you have a 200’ winch. These are 3/4 ton, but they really can’t be over loaded because of the handle design. If I want to take some stress off my rope I will rig a block at the pull point and bring it back to where the puller is giving me a 2 to 1 mechanical advantage.
Re. Patriot Nurse
Rather than mock ammo ‘stockpilers’ she should have just made a case for training. That said, in fairness to her she never used the code word ‘hoarder’.
Agreed. Her condescending tone makes her sound like she’s one of our betters and grates on the nerves. I train and stockpile because I remember the empty shelves on the ammo isles in all the stores and the out of stock messages online just a few years back.
Patriot nurse has lost almost all credibility with me. She just rants now…and hasn’t done a nursing video in years.
Agreed. I used to watch her videos (and those from her husband under his own channel), but she’s grown cocky and displays an arrogance now.
I prefer to use the term “stockpiling” instead of her term “hoarding”. I began squirreling away extra ammo several years ago when Obama attempted to shut down ammunition mineral suppliers (a backdoor approach to gun control), and continued even when Trump won in 2016 and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Here in CA, we still had Brown, Newsom, and De Leon rabidly pursuing gun control under a Democrat supermajority, so I kept stockpiling. And sure enough in 2019, while the rest of the nation enjoys going to their local store to buy a box of ammo any time they please, in only three months from now we Californians will have to undergo background checks and fingerprinting. And for those gun owners who aren’t in the CA registry as a known gun owner, you won’t pass and won’t be able to buy. That includes any out-of-state visitors as well.
THIS(!) is exactly why I stockpile. There are existing lawsuits against the CA law being pressed by the NRA, FPC, etc., but such suits usually take three to seven years to completely make their way through the courts and all the expected appeals to their final conclusions. My own stockpile is quite large and would literally take a truck to move if I had to evacuate, but I train regularly (e.g., twice in the past month alone) and my personal inventory will last only about 3.5 years at my rate.
FYI, I have no strong opinions on Patriot Nurse, pro or con. I appreciate all contributors who share insight. If you don’t like it, don’t watch her. That said, while she used the term ‘hoarders’ in her you tube title, she never used “hoarding” in the video, but used your preferred terminology of stockpiling over & over. So since she used your preferred term “stockpiling”, you should be all good now, right? Her main message was instead of just stockpiling, get training and skills as well as ‘stocking up’. Good advice as far as I can tell. Glad I could help!
Not quite sure I can agree with you there. She chose the word “hoarders” for her title when she uploaded the video.
You are correct, however, that one can simply choose not to view her videos any more, which is the choice I myself made a few months ago. The exception was this recent vid in question because it was recommended by a trusted source here.
Anytime someone tries to tell me how much of ANYTHING I need, and what is too much, they’ve crossed a line. Especially when they have a financial interest in getting people to her SO’s training course, which I bet she doesn’t supply the ammo for. PN has put out some good information about medical issues, even some of her social and political rants are entertaining, but this video was a waste of time.
Haven’t used the Klein duct knife, but I can recommend the similar Milwaukee duct knife, complete with Milwaukee’s bright red handle and a hard plastic sheath that reminds me of Mora knives from Sweden. Mine was sharp when purchased and is a very useful tool. Home Depot carries them for about $20. I liked that I could examine it in store before laying my money down.
I plan to make a new, slimmer handle for mine and sheath for low-profile carry, as double-edged knives are legal in TX. I see mine as a light, compact backup knife for the outdoors. Two edges mean that I have double the cutting ability before sharpening.
Someone looking for a non-serrated, double-edged knife in carbon steel might like the Old Hickory Sticker Knife (Ontario Knife Company 7155TC). Some examples are rather rough in terms of grind lines, but they work fine! Widely available for about $10. No sheath included.
re:
The LargeMarge Theory Of Impending ‘Civil’ War™
Take a gander, let me know if this sounds reasonable:
*** The Ruling Elites and their banker puppet-masters are engineering the LatestAndGreatest® division by directing some government agents in one state to pile-on massive amounts of weapons laws.
*** The Ruling Elites and their banker puppet-masters are directing other government agents in different states to eliminate weapons laws.
Using their puppets in TheMainstreamMeadia® to sound the alarm and get everybody riled-up because of ThoseEvilOtherPeople©, the ammunition manufacturers reap the profits HandOverFist®.
Based on my experience, this is the only possible explanation.
The link to the Mountain House lasagna does not seem to work.
I just repaired that link. Thanks.
I agree with both Petra and McGuesterson, I thought the rant by Patriot Nurse was way overdone and in the context of “mine is the only opinion worth considering”. There are good reasons for stockpiling and we read them every day from all corners of our country. One option she didn’t even consider was the high value of ammunition for barter.
I prefer a plammer over the narrow regular fencing pliers https://www.mooremaker.com/store/p10/PLAMMER_PLIERS.html
I carry it on my horse at all times (in a sheath with horse shoe nails). I’ve used the big hammer head to nail shoes back on; in addition to emergency fence fixing while pushing livestock on horse back or whatnot and freeing livestock from wire entanglements. It’s good have because you usually don’t have your fencing rig with you.
Also, instead of buying a woven fence puller I’ve used a 2×4 and some wire with a come along $2.00 vs $50.00…
Patriot Nurse is not a Patriot. Since when does a Patriot own a firearm and stockpile ammunition to “take out thugs and criminals” as she stated. No! A Patriot removes a tyranny regime from taking root. In the American Revolution guns and ammunition were used by Patriots to remove legislatures, judges, and law enforcement not upholding God’s laws–Christian principles. That’s what a Patriot does!!!
With the amount of time PN spends on making videos and selling her classes, I doubt that she actually does much “nursing” anymore either.
