The last “D” on that list deserves special attention. I’m often quoted as saying that we are living in the age of deception and betrayal. It is now a certainty that we are being systematically deceived and betrayed by all of our major institutions: all three branches of government, news media, the education system, the entertainment industry, mainstream churches, and Internet platforms. The Powers That Be want to subjugate us under a totalitarian global government, and increasingly they want to kill us.
Countering the Crowd
As America continues its slide into decadence, I encourage my readers to stand up for righteousness and make life choices that most people would characterize as contrarian. Our sinful society is driven by its lusts. We need to consciously turn away from those lusts. (To “repent” means to turn away.) Don’t be afraid to diverge from popular opinion and our nation’s current obsession with glamour, celebrity, wealth, scandal, and salaciousness. Consider: What can we change in our lifestyles to reverse this decadence? How can we change our mindset, to counter the herd-like behavior of the crowd?
Our Own “D” Word
The time has come to employ our own “D” word: Divorce. We need to divorce ourselves from those aspects of our society that are leading us toward subjugation.
- Part of this divorce is choosing how we spend our time and direct our attention. Shun that which is negative. Immerse yourself in God’s word (the Bible). Limit your exposure to the mainstream media. If in doubt, tune it out. That includes wasting your time watching funny cat videos.
- Part of this divorce is choosing our associates wisely. Keep in godly company! Avoid anyone who would drag you into the mire. Pay attention: Beware of those who use foul language, those who abuse drugs or alcohol, those prone to idleness, those who live a life of excess, and those who are obsessed with popular culture.
- Part of this divorce is geographic. Wisely choose where you live and travel. (See my writings on The American Redoubt.) I chose to move my family to a very lightly-populated rural area, on the edge of wilderness. Granted, that level of isolation isn’t for everyone, but it has worked well for us.
- Part of this divorce is through invisibility. We need to keep a low profile and remove ourselves from the gaze (and ire) of hostile jurisdictions. Do not enroll or otherwise engage yourself with systems that feed your personal details into databases. Do not answer questions from pollsters. Do not sign up for “free stuff.” (If something is offered “free” on the Internet, then odds are that your personal details are the product.)
- Part of this divorce is monetary. Get your money out of banks and dollar-denominated assets. Invest in tangibles. Use silver for barter. Do not use government-issued cryptocurrencies (CBDCs)! Push your elected representatives to reinstitute a sound currency. A “buck” should once again be silver!
- Part of this divorce is dietary. The American diet is chockful of food additives, processed foods, and artificial ingredients. We need to adopt a more wholesome diet. Grow a family garden and plant your own fruit and nut trees. Raise your own meat. Avoid all fast food and junk food.
- Part of this divorce is political. We must no longer place our trust in the major political parties. They have both been thoroughly coopted and no longer represent our best interests. If in doubt, vote out all incumbent politicians.
I will leave you with some insightful words from Thomas Jefferson:
“Mankind soon learn to make interested uses of every right and power which they possess, or may assume. The public money and public liberty, intended to have been deposited with three branches of magistracy, but found inadvertently to be in the hands of one only, will soon be discovered to be sources of wealth and dominion to those who hold them… They [the assembly] should look forward to a time, and that not a distant one, when a corruption in this, as in the country from which we derive our origin, will have seized the heads of government, and be spread by them through the body of the people; when they will purchase the voices of the people, and make them pay the price. Human nature is the same on every side of the Atlantic, and will be alike influenced by the same causes. The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered.”
Please pray that America escapes its decadent state. Do your best to counter it! – JWR
