Here are the latest news items and commentary on current economics news, market trends, stocks, investing opportunities, and the precious metals markets. In this column, JWR also covers hedges, derivatives, and various obscura. This column emphasizes JWR’s “tangibles heavy” investing strategy and contrarian perspective. Today, we look at the recent drop in sales of cardboard boxes. (See the Economy & Finance section.)

Nigerian SEC: Warning Against Investing With Binance. JWR’s Comments: Yes, it is now illegal for Nigerians to do any business with Binance. Tangibles Investing:

Over at WND: Gun sales go stratospheric in last four years. JWR’s Comments: Only a small portion of that 48 million figure was transfers of previously-owned guns. So, I’d estimate that at least 40 million newly-manufactured or newly-imported guns were tallied as transfers. To put that in perspective, those 40 million guns that we’ve added in just four years to our existing supply (of 392+ million!) is roughly equal to the total number of civilian guns in Germany, France, and Italy, combined. Any liberals who think that they can disarm us are dreaming.

And here is some more useful data on gun owner demographics, from a Pew Research poll.
