We also cover hedges, derivatives, and obscura. Most of these items are from the “tangibles heavy” contrarian perspective of SurvivalBlog’s Founder and Senior Editor, JWR. From the CNBC Perpetual Cheering Section: Gasoline is cheaper now than a year ago — and could fall below $3. JWR’s Comment: The great unspoken in this article is that gasoline prices started with a “$2” for nearly all of the Trump administration years, and briefly with a “$1.”  From a Reuters fact-check: “During the Trump administration, the highest average price was $2.90 in May 2019 and the lowest average price was $1.88 in May 2020.”

Palmetto State Armory and GunMag Warehouse (two of our affiliate advertisers) are continuing their Christmas sales. Take particular note of their low prices on full-capacity magazines. Both state and federal-level legislation that would limit magazine capacity is still a risk, so it is wise to stock up on magazines. Don’t buy junk. Only buy factory original magazines or top-quality commercial magazines (such as MagPul PMAGs and Mec-Gar magazines), and stack them deep!

News Tips:

Please send your economics and investing news tips to JWR. (Either via e-mail or via our Contact form.) These are often especially relevant because they come from folks who closely watch specific markets. If you spot any news that would be of interest to SurvivalBlog readers, then please send it in. News items from local news outlets that are missed by the news wire services are especially appreciated. Thanks!
