One of two very interesting and in some way noble guys of the 20th Century.
Sadat and Gorbachev seemed to have bucked the trends in their respective worlds, still survive somehow and then institute positive change. Sadat eventually paid with his life but not before he won. Gorbachev paid with his career but still won at least partially.
Not perfect men I am sure. But compared to their peers in their world, amazing men IMO. Almost certainly better men than I would have been in their shoes.

The only reason those two countries stopped fighting each other is thet the US govt, pays ONE BILLION per year of our taxpayer dollars, to each country, to not fight.
