SurvivalBlog Writing Contest

  1. Mogadishu was/is a tragedy for the people killed and wounded; their families suffer too. …. Many of our politicians only worship, money and political power. … Some politicians fail to fully understand the motivating power of a belief in a Transcendent God.

    People have a basic understanding of the Natural Law placed into their hearts. Some people just rip out understanding with increasing villainy.
    The founders of our country understood the Natural Law. =
    The Declaration of Independence: “…the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them …” & ” … We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness …”

  2. There were a lot of mistakes by command and in the ranks. There were lessons to be learned.
    We ceded control to UN commanders and troops.
    We lacked adequate intel and took the risks anyway.
    Individuals choose to leave some of their protection and ammo behind to lighten their load.
    Under estimated the enemy and those who sponsored them.

    Also this was a cluster-F BUT it was also a blowout. Literally hundreds of enemy combatants were killed. It is billed and the movie supported that it was a terrible failure but in spite of all the errors the U.S. troops kicked their butt. If the enemy thought that this was some kind of victory for them they also knew that they couldn’t afford any more victories like this.

  3. Mogadishu, Somalia is 7,800 miles from Washington DC. Most Americans couldn’t tell you what continent it is on. Tragically 18 U.S military soldiers died there.

    Yet no one answers these fundamental questions.
    Specifically how and from whom does the U.S. Military get the right to invade or occupy any foreign soil?
    In this case specifically how did this raid protect Americans back home?

    Please spare the personal attacks. I’m old. I have no time to waste. Neither does the men, women and children living under the 121 bombs the U.S. Military drops every day.

    1. The UN involvement and then our involvement in Mogadishu was the result of video evidence of rape, murder and starvation by the war lords there. The world didn’t like what they saw and wanted to save lives especially little children and women’s lives. But I agree with you, we should have just watched thenm tortured to death, right!

      1. OneGuy, let’s start with Baltimore a well-documented bastion of rape, murder and starvation. You would be OK with UN troops coming to Baltimore and policing that city? Then they could move onto Detroit, St. Louis, Memphis and on. That would be acceptable to you?

  4. Montana Guy you are correct but the underlying reasons and purposes were the Clintons’ illegitimate use of US resources to destroy a country then to use them in a blood feud for a UN dictator(Anon) against his personal enemies(no legal basis for our actions).

    1. VT, I honestly expected Clinton to become Secretary General of the UN when he left office.

      Something is seriously wrong when Americans will not answer these fundamental questions. Again on this post OneGuy dodged the questions.
