Visited my father’s grave at Marietta National Military Cemetery on Memorial Day. My dad, of course, made it home or I would not be here. D-Day, second wave, Omaha, Nuc tests in AZ and Pusan at the darkest hour. He loved his country absolutely. The entry gate at Marietta tells you that 10,328 union soldiers are buried there. In my wandering a year ago (could not find it this trip) I encountered the grave of a Colonel whose listed war engagements started with “Mexican Border War” and ended with Vietnam missing nothing in between. Wow!
