My mom relied on a pressure cooker a lot while I was growing up as she raised 6 kids, gardened and was quite busy. She would place the cooker under cold water after it was done cooking to quickly lower the pressure. It can dull the finish but it won’t hurt the pot.
I own 5 pressure cookers and we can Can 100 pounds of meat in a long day . I use to buy them ( Used) off Ebay for $ 15 each ,
