The sad thing is the average Turk is not being taught it happened this way. When I was in Turkey in 2012 I talked to a few locals about this and they were quick to point out it was a misunderstanding and that the Armenians choose to relocate and some of them just so happened to die in the process. They were very sincere in their belief about this, goes to show what happens when the bad people get a hold of your education system.
