  1. Re: Fasting, I personally have found one can do a fasting mimicking diet for five days which tricks the body into full fasting mode. You eat about 1/3 the calories as normal mainly via healthy fats (e.g. tree nuts, olive oil) and complex carbs (veggies) with low protein.

    Results are reduced body fat, lower cholesterol profile and blood sugar plus immune system rejuvenation. Kind of is a metabolism reset. I have done it a few times now over the last year and have lost 25 lbs and feel much better. For details about it, look up the work of Valter Longo of USC.
