  1. It would also be appropriate to consider menstrual cups. They are reusable and better for women with a heavier monthly flow. Thanks for an insightful article!

  2. Well certainly not a dinner table topic, but very instructive. I plan on showing your article to the missus and having her look at what was I thought to be an important article.

  3. Thanks, since DW and I are getting up in our years it’s not a subject we think about. But with DD and her two prepubescent girls it is something we need to address. thanks for the info.

  4. My bride and I have had this discussion many times and she prepared, sewing disposable pads and giving to our daughters and daughter in law. I am sure that the bucket and pads were disposed of quickly, never used, with them saying Mom and Dad have lost it again. We have been preparing for 20 years and have been told we are just full of fear, lack faith and have been classified as one of the crazies. I recall the parable of the ten virgins, five did not prepare and were left out when the bridegroom arrived. Those that have eyes to see will see, those that have ears to listen will hear, and I think I hear the bridegroom arriving, Prepare before it is too late.

  5. I know what you mean by the term ” disposable “, when wife was diagnosed with cancer, I had taken care of my wife at home a period of time and we used ” Depends ” for her. Because we lived out of town, we have a burn barrel, where I use a LP weed burner to get rid of her soiled depends, and I was surprised at how long it took to burn down to nothing ( and yes they were loaded ), the same is said for baby diapers .

  6. Kudos to you i have some disposable pads tucked away for an emergency when the daughter visits but hadn’t considered this! As a long term prepper we must cover every base even though it may not pertain to me directly. Thank you!

  7. Thank you for this article. Being a child of the 50s and 60s, I never gave much thought to what was being thrown away. Disposable diapers were my pet peeve, though. Now that I am much older I worry very much about the state of our Earth and the amount of plastics being used. We all need to do our part. This is a great solution for ladies! I will forward this article to all who still need those monthly feminine products. Thanks again!

  8. Great article; but you said you only ‘purchased three full sets’ for yourself and your two daughters. What about getting extra sets for your sons’ (if any) wives or girlfriends and other guests that may be visiting or seeking shelter when the bleep hits the fan?
